EXPERIMENT II: INTRODUCTION TO LOGIC IC

Objective: Wiring and testing a circuit by using basic logic gates and introduction to the logic functional , electrical characteristics and ic. Equipment List: 7408 2 input AND, 7432 2 input OR, 7400 2 input NAND, 7402 2 input NOR Procedure and Theory: 1) (a)AND Gate operation: Chip is obtained as part number of ttl for two-input AND gate (b)A input of AND gates is connected to switches on the logic designer and output of that gates is connected to an LED on the logic designer (c)Verfy all input combinations of and gate by using input switches. Red led means high logic level(1) and green leg means low logic level(0) (d)Record results Theory: input- input- led-result 0 0 green 0 1 0 green 0 0 1 green 0 1 1 red 1 2)OR Gate operation: repeat(1) for a two-input OR gate. Theory: input-input-led-result 0 0 green 0 1 0 red 1 1 1 red 1 0 1 red 1 3)NAND Gate operation: repeat(1)for a two-input NAND gate Theory: input-input-led-result 0 0 red 1 1 0 red 1 1 1 green 0 0 1 red 1 4)NOR Gate operation: repeat(1)for a two-input NOR gate Theory: input-input-led-result 0 0 red 1 1 0 green 0 1 1 green 0 0 1 green 0 5)NAND gate can be used as an inverter , if one of two inputs is connected to 5V

6)Repeat one of the previous operations with one input left unconnected if it is high or low. Theory: Led will be red Observing the experiment by applying 6th procedure determines answer Discussion and Conclusions: Theories and results of experiments by applying different procedures showed that theory and result of any experiment is same Questions:
