Introduction
A Stromboli can be considered a rolled up pizza. To construct a Stromboli, the dough must be rolled flat and then a series of layers are stacked, one on top of each other, forming the inside of the Stromboli. The basic construction will be taught in this instruction set, but any variation of food can be used and applied in a similar context. Before rolling out the dough, it is best to determine what kind of rolling pin you have to work with. This instruction set used a non-stick rolling pin which implies that nothing extra needs to be done to the rolling pin to prevent the dough from sticking. A traditional rolling pin made of wood would require the user to apply flour to the rolling pin prior to rolling the dough to prevent the dough from sticking and causing a problem. From oven to oven, the cooking capabilities can vary and it is best to know how your particular oven handles. Typically the Stromboli should be placed on the middle oven rack and the racks should be placed far enough apart so that the Stromboli has room to rise. For the first attempt at producing a Stromboli in your oven it would be best to keep the oven light on and check it every 5-10 minutes to prevent it from over baking. To make the Stromboli, it is suggested to use a kitchen table or any similar hard, flat surface that is capable of being cleaned before and after use. The reason for using the table is to have plenty of room to roll the dough. It is possible to relocate the cookie sheet to a kitchen counter to add the layers to the inside. The time it takes to prepare the Stromboli is approximately 20 minutes and an additional 20 minutes to cook the Stromboli in the oven.

relatively short amount of time, making it a great meal after a long days work. As stated before, this is just one idea for layers that can be incorporated in your Stromboli, but you do not have to limit your selections to the ones used here. Other common types of ingredients used to make a Stromboli include: steak-ums (cheese steak Stromboli), ham and pineapples (Hawaiian Stromboli) and various other meats. Use your imagination and taste buds to create one that is unique to you!
