We kindly request you to nominate an officer (s) heading Marine Environment section in your institutions to participate in the forthcoming Southern African Regional Co-operation Group on Safety of Navigation and Marine Environmental protection (SAGNEP) between 29th and 30th May, 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa. This meeting will be followed, at the same venue, by an Aids to Navigation Training Seminar on 31 May - 1 June 2012, conducted by the Dean of the World Wide Academy of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA). The training is aimed at executives and authorities in charge of maritime safety and safety of navigation. Given the importance we attach to marine environment protection in the region, we highly recommend that you treat this invitation with the importance it deserves so that we can all forge ahead together.
