Does Tension Affect Length?

Hypothesis
I think that looser the strings the higher the ball will go because there is a catapult effect in the strings.

Materials
5 foot measuring tape Normal tape 1 can of new tennis balls 1 60lbs tensioned racquet(Brand: Dunlop) 1 58lbs tensioned racquet(Brand: Head) 1 50lbs tensioned racquet(Brand: Prince)

Procedures
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Tape the measuring tape to a wall from floor up. Then place first racquet on the ground. Tape it there to stop it from popping up when ball is dropped. Then drop a newly opened tennis ball from 60 inches off the ground. Get a family member or friend to watch how high the ball goes. Record your data for each drop. Five times for each racquet. Repeat until done with all 3 racquets.

Conclusion
This data did back up my hypothesis. Since the data ended up showing the smaller tension causes the ball to go higher. The catapult affect is the main key as I stated before. This affect plays a big role when tennis players pick their tennis racquets. This project was a simple success.

Results
For racquet D or Dunlop, the average height for the first experiment was 44 inches, although there are 2 major outliers for this one. For the second one it is 45 inches, there was a mode for this one but it was still close. For the final experiment it was 42 inches, there was also a mode for this one and nothing else. So the total average is 43.6. For racquet H or Head, the average height is 46.8 inches. In the first experiment there are many similar numbers. The next experiments result for this racquet is 44.4 inches. This experiment had varied heights that gave this result. The final experiments result is 43 inches. This data had a not so high outlier. The total average for all of the data for racquet H is 44.7 inches.
