Recruitment:

The recruitment and selection is the major function of the human resource department and recruitment process is the first step towards creating the competitive strength and the strategic advantage for the organizations. Recruitment process involves a systematic procedure from sourcing the candidates to arranging and conducting the interviews and requires many resources and time. A general recruitment process is as follows:

1.) Identify vacancy 2.) Prepare job description and person specification 3.) Advertising the vacancy 4.) Managing the response 5.) Short-listing 6.) Arrange interviews 7.) Conducting interview and decision making

DHRM

Human Resource Management (HRM) is defined as a management function that deals with the recruitment, management, and development of employees in order to maximize their potential and roles in the company or organization.

IHRM
International Human Resource Management (IHRM), on the other hand, is defined as a management function which deals with the

management of personnel who are stationed in other countries or who


are citizens of other countries that are hired to work in the organization

IHRM Recruitment Activity


Each functions in HR has new dimensions in IHRM. Described

below are how they differ. Human Resource Planning:


1.) Difficulty in implementing HR procedures in host countries. 2.) Difficulty in tying Strategic planning to HR planning and vice versa. 3.) Providing developmental opportunities for International Managers

Employee Hiring:
1.) Ascertain cultural fit with that of the global organization. 2.) Ethnocentric, Geocentric and polycentric approaches to staffing. 3.) Selection of Expatriates. 4.) coping with Expatriate failure. 5.) Managing Female Expatriates. 6.) Managing Repatriation process.
