    A person suffered a blunt injury to their tibia bone from a falling foreign object, which caused a fracture with bleeding from the damaged bone ends and surrounding tissues. This led to the formation of a hematoma within the medullary canal and between the fractured bone ends beneath the periosteum. The bone tissue near the fracture immediately died and stimulated an intense inflammatory response, including vasodilation, exudation of plasma and leukocytes, and growth factors from mast cells, which simultaneously worked to decalcify the fractured bone ends. This caused increased capillary permeability, fluid and cellular exudation, edema, and pain from the compression of nerve endings, resulting in impaired leg function.
