55 percent of our influence upon others is based on our image

It is said that the way people perceive us mostly depends on our image. The way we dress or the way we act plays an important role in our social life, especially in our relationships with other persons. Our personality can be reflected upon others even at first sight, whether we want it or not. How many of us did appreciate or not a person by his or hers look? An old proverb stays that we should not judge a book by its cover, but dont we usually do this ? Studies show that in the majority of time our appereance is a decisive fact in the way we came across as. For example if we see a person dressed in formal manner we tend to treat him or her with respect and value their words or actions, whereas a casual outfit or an exccentric one may give the impression that the person should not be taken seriously. It is in our nature to form an opinion about the others just by looking at them and that is why the way we dress represents an important criterion to be taken in consideration when we want to make a positive impression upon others. Another factor that influences the way people perceive us is represented by our actions. The way we act in society can tell many things about our character, our personality, our upbringing and our education. If we want to make a positive impression upon others we should not misbehave because a deviation in our demeanour might change in a negative manner peoples perception about us.

In conclusion our image reflects our personality and our character and contributes decisively to the way we influence the persons around us.
