Josh Toon Weekly Journal March 5-11 My time at Centennial High School has given me the experience I needed

to grow as a teacher. Mr. Herges is a very knowledgeable teacher and has given me very helpful advice. I have gotten to know Mr. Herges and the other physical education teachers very well. I have learned something from each of them that will prepare me for my next placement and my job. During the 8 weeks, I fell that I have improved in some area every week. The areas I will always need to improve on are classroom management, transitioning between activities, and watching over the entire class. I have learned to create lesson plans that students of all skill levels may participate in and be successful. I have made improvements on being loud and authoritative when speaking to my class. I have also learned how to discipline students in class and during passing periods and how to avoid confrontations with students. These 8 weeks have prepared me to do well in my second placement and at the school where I get a job. I will continue to work on improving every week at Holy Cross and I will use my experience from Centennial to continue my growth as a teacher. At the end of student teaching I feel that I will be prepared to begin my career as a teacher.
