Prayer for Mothers God of love, we bring our hearts to you this day.

God of Sarah, Ruth and Rebekah; of holy Elizabeth mother of John; of Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus, whose lineage in faith we share. bless the mothers in our lives today with the same strength of your spirit. God of laughter and tearswe rejoice at the opportunity to gather in Your Presence. In ten thousand ways, You have been present in ordinary events already in this day. We thank you for the mothers in our liveswhether biological or spiritual, that have loved us and by doing so, given us a glimpse of how .YOU delight in us. As mothers, help us accept our failings and beautify them. Give us wisdom where there is doubt. Confidence where there is worry. Patience where there is anger. Peace where there is guilt. Give us courage to forgive others, and help us to forgive ourselves. You already know Lord, what we need; the words we long to hear, the affections we desire, and the hurts only You can heal. Whisper into our ears the truth that will set us free. Give us the strength to fulfill the holy calling of motherhood and raise up virtuous children who will live a holy life and seek you always. Through crosses and crowns, the sun and the storms, we pray for the strength of Your Spirit.
