 INTRODUCTION

Taize as a Style of Worship

Taize offers a contemplative approach to prayer through beautifully repetitious music,

scripture readings, spoken prayers, and silence. It is represented by the color orange because
it rejuvenates our spirit and stimulates two-way conversation with you and the Lord. Taize as a
worship style brings a wonderful alternative worship experience that differs from traditional
liturgy while remaining true to the purpose of worship, which is to glorify God.

When you allow the Holy Spirit to lead the soul across the bridge of music to come into the
presence of the Lord in prayer, you will experience the beauty of contemplative worship
through the style of Taize. Whether you are a singer or listener, you will discover music that
touches your soul. Come to the quiet and experience the closeness of God.

 PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

The Spirit of the Lord guides our life when we listen to him and are docile to his action. Aware
those help for true conversion springs forth from prayers and trusting fully in the mercy of God
the Father. Amidst the pandemic we are encountering, with confidence in our loving God let
us offer our prayers for the needs of the Church and the World. We pray: LORD HEAR OUR
PRAYER.

 For Pope Francis, and all Church leaders, that God will give them the wisdom and
courage they need as they lead the Church during this pandemic, we pray to the
Lord.

 For world leaders, that God may give them the grace to work together during this
pandemic to promote justice and special care toward the poor and vulnerable, we
pray to the Lord.

 For all essential workers, that God will protect their health as they continually put
themselves at risk in service to others, we pray to the Lord.

 For those most susceptible to the Coronavirus, that God will protect them from
illness and surround them with the peace of knowing that they are loved and
cared for beyond measure, we pray to the Lord.

 For those affected and devastated by natural disasters and fires, that through God
they will find consolation, comfort, and strength. May they have the courage to
face the long road of rebuilding ahead. Heal their memories of trauma and
devastation, we pray to the Lord.

 For all of us, that God will give us the grace to know his presence in our everyday
lives, and to know him as our constant companion in times of loneliness, our
gladness in times of suffering, and our sure hope in times of uncertainty, we pray
to the Lord
 For our parish community, that God may keep us connected in spirit and love
during this time of social distancing, we pray to the Lord.

 For all parishes in our diocese and throughout the world, that God may bless their
creative efforts in safely reaching out and providing for the spiritual and material
needs of people, we pray to the Lord.

 Light and lamp of God’s holy city, -- shine on our friends and people who have
died, that they may reign for ever. We pray to the Lord…

 REFLECTION PRAYER

Lord of compassion show us how to reach a deeper loving. Take us past the pain
when love is cast aside, to the source of healing where we can renew ourselves. Let
us take in whatever is given us that is unloving and cleanse it in your light and return
it kind and clear. Expose our cave of darkness where we hide our fears and let us see
how the light transforms all it touches. Steady us as we look into the window of our
world and its perfect reflection, as it offers us the choice of correction. Reveal to us
the brighter image of the one who stands within the greater possibilities, the
fulfilment that is present in the acceptance of every overcoming.

God our Father, Creator of the world, almighty and merciful, out of love for us
You sent your Son into the world as the doctor of our souls and our bodies,
look upon your children who, in this difficult time of confusion and dismay in
many regions around the world, turn to you seeking strength, salvation
and relief, deliver us from illness and fear, heal our sick, comfort their families, give
wisdom to our rulers, energy and reward to our doctors, nurses and volunteers,
eternal life to the dead. Do not abandon us in the moment of trial but deliver us from
all evil. We ask this of Thee, who with the Son and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for
ever and ever.
AMEN

Oratio Imperata

"Merciful and compassionate Father, we come to you in our need to seek your
protection against the COVID 19 virus that has disturbed and even claimed lives.

We ask you now to look upon us with love and by your healing hand, dispel the
fear of sickness and death, restore our hope, and strengthen our faith.

We pray that you guide the people tasked to find cures for this disease and to
stem its transmission.

We thank you for the vaccines developed made possible by your guiding hands.

Bless our efforts to use these vaccines to end the pandemic in our country.

We pray for our health workers that they may minister to the sick with
competence and compassion.

Grant them health in mind and body, strength in their commitment, protection
from the disease.

We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health. Protect those who
care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.

Give us the grace in these trying times to work for the good of all and to help
those in need. May our concern and compassion for each other see us through
this crisis and lead us to conversion and holiness.

Grant all these through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with
you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

We fly to Your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petition in
our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed
Virgin. Amen.
