Multiplication Facts!

1. Use flash cards, working on one times table at a time. As a table is learned, add those cards to the previous table learned and practice them all together. 2. Use tricks; such as 3x5 is the same as 5x3. One (1) times any number will always be that number. Zero (O) times any number will always be zero (O). 3. Use tables already known to figure out new facts. (4x6 is the same as 2x6 doubled!) 4. Add on to easier problems you already know. "You know what 5x6 is (30), so 6x6 is one more 6 (30+6=36). 5. Practice the table you're working on whenever you get a spare minute (in the car, walking, in the bathtub, or waiting in the doctor's office). 6. Write the times tables. 7. Sing the times tables or make up rhymes for hard ones. (7X6, I know you! That's because you're 42!) 8. Play WAR. To play, divide flash cards you know and are working on between two players. Each player then puts down one card and says the answer. The one with the larger answer gets both cards. Keep playing until one person runs out of cards. If the answers are the same, declare a "war". Put down two cards then say the answer to the third card. Highest answer gets all the cards in the "war". Have fun! 9. Use the fact quizzes from school to practice. 10. Mix up the flash cards so they are in a different order each time. 11. Roll dice and multiply the numbers you get. Make up a game to go with it.
