REMEMBER: At times when students are blinded by the obstacles they face, they tend to make impetuous decisions that can hurt more than just themselves.
Jennifer Wang Editor-in-Chief A recent Walnut High School graduate committed suicide on Monday night, September 12, after struggling with depression. The former wrestlers family and friends were greatly shocked by the incident. This was a student who seemed very content. No one would have assumed such a conclusion. The staff at Walnut was very distraught. [He] was a student who they had in their classes, who they loved and cared for, and who was close friends with a lot of the current students. They had lost a student that they loved, expressed Diamond Bar High Schools psychologist Stacy Woodward. The student was reluctant to share his personal issues with others; only a few understood what he was experiencing. His friends were really devastated because he didnt share a lot of his true feelings with them and I think it just became too much for him, shared Woodward. It is important to note that there are always other alternatives that are available to students. Our campus has a peer counseling program [Please see REFLECT on page 3]

Editorial Editor Diamond Bar High School's Drama Department will be presenting its annual fall play titled "Leading Ladies" at the DBHS theater on Friday, October 14 through Saturday, October 15. Two additional showings will be held on Friday, October 21 through Saturday, October 22. Written by playwright Ken Ludwig, "Leading Ladies" depicts a comedic story about English actors in America trying to make a living. "The play is about the choices these two actors make. They make these choices and problems compound one another," explained drama director Peter Bland. He added, "It is a true laugh-out-loud comedy." Unlike the Drama Departments previous plays, which were more formal and serious, "Leading Ladies" promises to entertain the crowd with its unique sense of humor. "It has a lot of comedy in it. I know that a lot of jokes, the students [at DBHS] will be able to [understand]," said junior Jazzlyn Parra, the assistant

I wish her and the USB students a lot of luck during this transition period. I know that it is going to be great, stated Real.

The chosen actors and actresses were then separated into two groups: Purple Cast and Gold Cast. The members were then expected to memorize their script throughout the summer. Woolston has previously taught English and World History at West Covina High School. In his second year of teaching, he will be instructing tenth-grade and twelfth-grade English on campus. These include Pathways Leadership, Game Club, Origami Club, and swim. I, personally, love Pathways. [Pathways students] treat each other well, feel comfortable in class, and work very hard, said Woolston. As a teacher, Woolstons goal is to be the best teacher I can possible be, always be willing to lend a hand or get involved, and make whatever subject I teach fun and interesting. He added, I plan to work with the other teachers on campus to learn new ways of teaching a subject and also asking the students themselves what works and doesnt work. In his free time, Woolston enjoys to go on road trips and hikes. In addition, he plans to backpack through Southeast Asia next summer. I hope to contribute new ideas and energy to both the students and staff. Hopefully I can make a positive impact, commented Woolston. In addition to the flooding, evacuated people are not recommended to return home until roads have been cleared of fallen trees and downed power lines. Property damage is estimated to be extremely high not only from the hurricane but also from the flooding. The complete amount of damage has not been completely accounted for since many areas are still considered unreachable, but the damages are estimated to cost as high as a total of $14 billion. This is an extremely damaging event towards the United States still weak economy, considering the fact that the United States is still in debt. On Saturday, August 27, Obama visited the east coast in order to survey the damage. He spoke to many citizens about his determination to have the government prioritize the efforts for relief. Obama has already requested $1.8 billion for the immediate relief of the victims in the east coast; however, due to financial complications, Congress can only provide $11 billion of relief funds for disaster aid for the whole of next year Despite the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Irene, many officials revealed that they had expected worse from the storm. Many precautions were taken before the hurricane hit the east coast. The east coast was prepared for this disaster and in order to limit the damage, 10 states declared a state of emergency. The precautions included evacuating over two million people and closing down airports and public transit days before the hit. Numerous non-profit organizations have formed for the relief of those who were affected by Hurricane Irene. These students have been trained to provide support for anyone who seeks help. The counseling room, room 242, is almost always open during lunch for any students who wish to speak to a peer counselor or the Peer Counseling Advisor Sandra Davis. Peer counselors are trained to recognize the warning signs of suicide and understand the importance of taking any person who is directly or indirectly expressing the desire to take [his or her] own life seriously, explained Davis. Woodward and the Intervention Counselor Lisa Benner are other staff members who are able to alleviate stress and problems students have. Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems. Whenever I hear about a young person committing suicide, I often wonder if anyone in his or her life was alerted to [his or her] depression before the incident. I think it is imperative that everyone is educated on this important issue, stated Davis. There are times when students are blinded by the obstacles they face and in these moments, students tend to make impetuous decisions that can hurt more than just themselves. When we struggle and we are in a sad or desperate place, we forget who loves us and who cares about us. We forget that those feelings are temporary and that there can be help to get past them and that is why it is so important to talk about what you are really thinking and feeling, concluded Woodward.

Homeless to Lifeless
Marcel Boubion Editorial Editor foster care. In fact, millions of children across the country are already enjoying the benefits of foster care. Studies show that 57 percent of children placed in foster homes are at high risk of receiving abuse and neglect. That is a 57 percent high chance that children can finally shed that weight they have been worried about! Stress from a foreign environment, homesickness, misery, and unceasing humiliation have proved to be the perfect formula for weight loss. The governments role is to control every fraction of a persons life to ensure that America is a nation embodying a perfect and ideal image. After all, one can never be too skinny. Those parents who have raised the anorexic and bulimic masses are the leading examples for aspiring parents. Any problems those children have are much too slight and slender to be seen. The real dilemma lies with the big problems: the big sizes. Ignore those small ones about the malnourished; you cant even see them! Obesity is an epidemic of hefty proportions. It is abuse of the worst sort and the people of this country must raise their voices and armaments against such a heinous crime. And hopefully, one day in the future, all of America can raise their arms without a wiggle of adipose tissue jiggling under it. Hundreds of protesters began rallying in July in order to pin six Fullerton police officers as the murderers of Kelly Thomas, who died five days after he was beaten unconscious in what started out as a routine arrest. The beating, while grotesque and unwarranted, is only bringing about the trial of two out of the six officers responsible, despite countless testimonials and surveillance videos that depict an outnumbered homeless man beaten beyond recognition. Two months later, Fullerton Police Chief Michael Sellers is extending his stress-related medical leave of absence, allowing him to maintain his $228,576 annual paycheck, while four of the six officers involved in the arrest remain on paid administrative leave. Conveniently, Sellers was not able to provide a timely narrative on what occurred that night when Thomas was arrested, nor did he offer condolences to the Thomas family. Meanwhile, the District Attorney took even more time to wrap up the investigation which will determine whether or not the broken bones, brain injuries, and internal bleeding might have been the result of excessive force. Rather than provide these murderers with protected identities, criminal charges need to be placed on all of the officers involved in the arrest The officers did not use reasonable force to apprehend

steps, in order to punish these ruthless parents. One shining example is the case of Alexander Draper, a 14-year-old boy from South Carolina who was seized from his parents custody and put directly into foster care. It is a revolutionary action that has sparked a wave of reform. their suspect yet, the D.A.s shockingly slow response time and Fullerton City councils lack of concern allows these men to walk freely. Judging from the reactions of eye witnesses, it is clear that arresting K. Thomas was not the only intention of the six men who beat him. One witness frantically described the scene to a local bus driver just moments after it happened: they caught him, pound[ed] his face, pound[ed] his face against the curb ... and they beat him up. On September 3, Ron Thomas released his sons medical records revealing that his death was caused by brain damage received during the incident. It should not take the D.A. over two months to realize that K. Thomas life was placed in the hands of all six officers who beat him excessively. This is a criminal case and every officer involved should be handled as such. The Fullerton Police department is allowing four men involved in what should be an on-going murder investigation to take leave with pay along with their protected identitiesregardless of their ranking as officers, this is unacceptable. The D.A. needs to continue their investigation so that these policemen are removed from administrative leave and tried for the wrongful death of K. Thomas. Protestors must keep pressuring the Fullerton City council and the D.A. so that they are no longer provided the immunity that allows them to avoid responsibility for Thomass wrongful death.

The tenth anniversary of September 11 brought a wave of well-deserved patriotism to Diamond Bar High School; the method the school has chosen to show its devotion, however, is questionable. Leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance will not increase patriotism; rather it will take away the pledges value as a salute to the country. At some point between the time students enter elementary school and graduate high school, they are taught that pledging their allegiance to a flag in front of their classmates is the best way to show their love for their country. Students are rarely explained the significance of the pledge, nor is the option to not recite it made clear, and even though a student may be given the choice to refrain from pledging, social expectancies to recite the pledge will always be in place. R e c e n t l y, D B H S h a s established a weekly recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance prior to the reading of the Bullsheet. Although it is not mandatory, the expectation and obligatory feeling to recite the pledge are still prevalent in the majority of classrooms. Saying the Pledge of Allegiance so frequently takes away its value and meaning. Although students are not forced to recite the pledge in class, they will not be able to refrain from saying it
Editorial
Many younger students do not understand that they have a choice regarding the recitation, and by leading them in the repetition of the same lines day after day, not only are they forced to believe in something they may not understand, but the pledge is also turned into a duty rather than a vow. Reciting the pledge on a daily basis would be more appropriate if its absolute meaning was taught to students at an appropriate age, so that children could make an educated decision from the beginning as to whether or not they want to recite it. However, to ingrain in them at such a young age words that they have no comprehension of is inherently wrong. While some individuals may feel that the poem is a patriotic display of loyalty, it is ridiculous to impose this recital on students. Not only is it a misconstrued view of patriotism, but it is also an intrusion on the natural rights of the students. Allowing schools to create an environment that suggests the requirement of a weekly oath is an inappropriate display of loyalty and dedication to the country. Such an environment has no place in a classroom because the ideas and expectations of the pledge are forced upon students without conveying to them that what they are repeating is a reflection of their personal views.
I think we should say the pledge because we shouldnt lose our patriotism just because were in high school. Joseph Bachman, Sophomore

The most famed conspiracy about the Pokmon franchise is the theory that the entire cartoon series is Ashs coma induced delusions. While unconrmed, this premise has gained a huge following. Advocates argue that Ash went into a coma after being struck by lightning early in the series. Following this event, the pacing and style of the show changed signicantly with Team Rocket becoming less menacing and the world becoming more idealistic. The characters are allegedly Ashs projections of himself as he struggles with his own personal demons. This theory explains why all Pokmon centers have the exact same nurse and why Ash never becomes a real Pokmon master.
The Rugrats
Animators sometimes get out of hand and conduct inappropriate, obscene actions. In the 1977 Disney lm, The Rescuers, a racy image of a topless woman can be seen flying past in the background during a scene in which the two mousy protagonists race down a street. The image is small and only ashes by for a split second, but this offensive picture led to the recall of 3.4 million copies of the lm.
Many of us remember watching The Rugrats on TV when we were kids. Recently, however, rumors have been circulating about the true story behind the TV show. Theorists have speculated that the children on the show are all simply a gment of Angelicas rampant imagination. According to internet blogs and forums, Chucky died long ago with his mother, and Tommy was a still born. Bloggers have also reasoned that the DeVilles, the parents of Phil and Lil, had an abortion and because Angelica could not decide what gender the infant would have been, she simply created the same character with two different genders.
Internet bloggers have also created theories about The Rugrats spin off show, All Grown Up. According to these writers, Angelica is a bipolar schizophrenic who became addicted to narcotics. This drug use caused her to revert to her childhood mentality, a state which brought back her imaginary characters. She clung to her hallucinations as a form of comfort and ultimately died of a heroin overdose.

Nicole Ongpoy Editorial Cartoonist Today, there are people who take it upon themselves to go out and lie down in bizarre and foolish places. They lie in escalators, on cop cars, in airplane compartment storages, and even on top of camels. This strange activity is a renowned hobby called planking, where people lie face down and do absolutely nothing. Rumor has it that the term planking originated from slave ships where slaves were chained together and forced to lie down on shelves of wooden planks in small compact spaces. Although possible, planking most likely came from the The Lying Down Game in the 2000s when the game started out as a fad in England, and eventually became an over hyped Internet sensation. These plankers are getting positive feedback from others on the Internet for doing absolutely nothing on top of uncomfortable and unsafe areas. Not only do they put themselves at risk, but they also disturb the public peace by planking over the rails of escalators and in the middle of doorways, causing traffic and making people angry. A man in Australia actually died after losing his balance trying to plank off his balcony. Police authorities and even Julia Gillard, the Australian Prime Minister, called the matter of planking to attention and warned others about the recklessness of this activity. It may be all fun and games, but unless you wish to hurt yourself, I suggest that you stick to planking on your soft bed at night.
What interests me about this cafe is the line of people waiting outside that never seems to dwindle. Even on weekdays, there is some kind of queue there. 85C Bakery is one of the most popular cafes in Taiwan, which explains the line of predominantly Asian people. What rst drew me to this place was the fresh bread. Unlike your usual Asian bakery, 85C always has new batches of bread, due to the masses of people that quickly make the confections disappear into their stomachs. Many of the breads sold here are on the sweet side, but the bakery also makes salty ones. An example of a salty bread would be the French Cheese bread, which has garlic powdery on top and is lled with cheese. When you pay for the bread, you also get the option of buying a drink. For the most part, this bakery serves coffee-like drinks, as its name comes from the supposed perfect temperature for drinking coffee. The pricing here is also very good; I bought 10 different types of bread and the total was only 15 dollars! However, the wait time is the longest I have ever had to endurea whopping 25 minutes! Hopefully, this time will be shorter on weekdays.

If you like the taste of tea, Half and Half is the perfect place for you! Many of the restaurants tea based drinks taste like actual tea, so if you do not like that bitter avor, I suggest that you add some caramel to it. When I rst stepped into the restaurant, I was a bit confused since there was no menu of any kind on display. The only thing the cafe had was a chalkboard with a lot of Chinese characters on it. Some advice I would give to the rst-timer would be to step up to the counter and grab one of the menus that are hidden in one of the boxes. Like many other tea stations, Half and Half takes a pretty long time to make your drinks. That waiting time, in addition to the line of people waiting to order, totals to about 15 minutes. Nowadays, four dollars seems to be the standard for specialty boba so the cafes prices are pretty reasonable, especially since its cups are some of the largest you will ever see.
Do you like your boba on the sweet and creamy side? If you do, you will love Meow Meow Cafe! The Boba Milk with Pudding contains a lot of milk, sugar, and a chocolate-like sauce, to the point where it almost tastes like a milkshake. For me, the pudding is the best part of the drink! It has a wonderful texture, tastes just right, and is easy to eat - no struggling with the straw or spoon. The restaurant displays a menu on the wall that has the three most popular drinks (the boba milk with pudding is #1), and a few other specialty beverages. If you want a full menu, you will need to step to the side of the counter and get one of the pamphlets. Drinks take about 10 minutes to come out, so do not order if you are short on time. Also, Meow Meow Cafe is not open on Mondays or Tuesdays, so plan ahead!

Meet the Coach: Ryan Maine
Austin Kong A&E Editor The 2011 Diamond Bar High School fall sports season marks the beginning of a new era for DBHS football. Starting this season, coach and teacher, Ryan Maine, took on the position of head coach after John Martin stepped down last winter. Maine has taught Digital Video Production at Diamond Bar since 2007, and is also the current advisor of The Stampede, the schools weekly student-led broadcast. Bulls Eye: When and how did you find out that you were the new head coach? Ryan Maine: I did not know Coach Martin was going to step down. He has his reasons because he wanted to spend more time with his family. I am sure hell be back coaching. It was a surprise for us when he came in December. BE: How did the team respond to the change? RM: First it was a little difficult; any change is difficult for kids. It was easy after Coach Martin established a solid foundation and left the program in good hands for the same coaches. Change always kind of shakes things up a little bit. After the first couple of weeks we were rolling. BE: What changes and/ or improvements did you make to the program? RM: We changed the weight training a little bit we wanted to get stronger and faster. We started the protein shakes after working out and tried to establish more of a family atmosphere by doing more team-building and team-bonding. We wanted the kids taking ownership of the team. Our goal was to get the kids mentally stronger. BE: What was the most difficult part of becoming head coach? RM: The transition was tough trying to carry off of what coach Martin established and to keep it going and making sure kids did not quit or go away. We wanted to keep the same guys and the same culture. BE: How has your relationship with the team developed? RM: I have definitely grown a lot closer to the kids. Before I and understand where they are coming from. I know them more than just football players and people who are more than just and I played college [football] at Sacramento State [University]. And I finished my last two years at the University of San Diego. My coach was Jim Harbaugh the [San Francisco] 49ers coach right now. After college, I still wanted to be a part of the game so I started filming for some teams then I came here in 2007 and started [as the quarterback coach]. BE: What was your greatest accomplishment in your years of playing the game? RM: Probably [ C a l i f o r n i a Interscholastic F e d e r a t i o n ] championships back to back. It was a fun team to play for. We all loved each other and enjoyed being with each other. It is a fun memory. BE: Based on the changes you have made and your new position, there has been a lot of hype for this year. How have you and the team responded to this hype? RM: Hype can be good or bad. I felt that we came in a little too hyped during our game at Ayala. I think that was a good reality check. [Hype] is just a name. Your actions speak louder than your words. All the public is going to see from us, is how we do on the football field. We care about making the team better but for others, they just want to see if you win or lose. It is a lot more about action than to go with the hype. BE: Do you have any goals for yourself? Are there any goals that the team has? RM: The goal that I always have, that will stick with me for the rest of my life, is to practice on Thanksgiving Day. What it means is that you won the first round of CIF. Our first goal is to make the CIF playoffs this year and my ultimate goal is to be able to practice on Thanksgiving Day. This means that you are putting yourself in a position to play for a semifinal spot. Coming off a 6-4 2010 season, the Brahmas have high hopes and confidence in their new coach.

Megan Quiamas Contributing Staff Writer In every sport, there are many situations in which professional athletes are forced to make tough, careerchanging decisions. When money is involved, loyalty is sometimes compromised, but there are a handful of athletes who are willing to stay with the team they started with. On August 29, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jered Weaver chose to stay with his team of five years rather than leave for a bigger salary. His decision to stay was criticized by some but in the end, it demonstrates loyalty and humility. If $85 (million) is not enough to take care of my family and other generations of families then Im pretty stupid, but how much money do you really need in life? commented Weaver in an interview with ESPN after the event. Weaver has been breaking Angels records since his debut in May 2006. In his first season,

ignoring his agent Scott Boras advice to go elsewhere for a bigger contract. In 2011, the Indianapolis Colts were hoping to make Peyton Manning the highest paid player in the NFL when they offered him a five year, $100 million contract. Instead, Manning chose to take a smaller contract so that the Colts could use the additional ten million dollars to sign returning players. Manning believed that he did not need the money, especially if it meant losing his teammates. You take a look at things and whats potentially going to happen, and I realized that Ive got to have these guys around me, Manning said to ESPN news. Recently, Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest has been
gaining notoriety for changing his name to Meta Worldpeace. However, this is not the first action he has taken to provide for others. Back in 2006, Artest faced a predicament comparable to Mannings when the Sacramento Kings did not have enough money to resign teammate Bonzi Wells. As a result, Wells former teammate, Artest, offered to donate his entire 2005-2006 salary in order to keep Wells on the team. After Wells was traded to the New Orleans Hornets, Artest again offered to donate his salary so that Rick Adelman could remain in Sacramento. He could have easily sat back and allowed these trades to happen, but being a loyal member of the team, he spoke up to keep the team together. In the sports world, it is rare to see athletes staying loyal to their team, especially if there is a large sum of money being put on the table. Although it is tough to stay loyal, there are those athletes who are 100% dedicated to their team.

Winston Cho Asst. Sports Editor Teams of all sports trade away players for new ones that could potentially give it a better chance at winning a championship the next season. It trades loyal players who have been with the team their whole career in the hopes of winning more games. Sports is treated as a business and rightfully so. If teams can trade players, then players should also be able to leave for a better chance at winning. On August 29, 2011, Los Angeles Angels star Jered Weaver signed a five year contract extension worth $85 million. His actions have been praised as heroic and unselfish as Weaver chose to stay loyal to the Angels and pass up the chance to make more money from a different team. His decision also drew more criticism to stars who left their teams for unreasonably large sums of money. However if this is the case, this condemnation towards these players is unwarranted and one-sided. To begin with, many athletes are left with no choice but to

seemed as if the franchise only cared about making a profit. In his first year with Miami, James nearly reached an NBA Championship. His decision to leave Cleveland was the right choice for his career. One cannot blame him for looking out for his own future. Salaries are utilized by athletes to measure how much they are valued by their team. If a player feels he is underappreciated, leaving for another team is justified. This happened in the 2000 Major League Baseball season when Alex Rodriguez left the Seattle Mariners for the Texas Rangers and then proceeded to sign a massive ten year $252 million contract with the New York Yankees. A common misconception in the world of sports is how much the players get paid to perform. Athletes have to retire young as their performances decline as they age. As a result, Rodriguez should not be criticized for
leaving the Mariners for a better financial opportunity on another team. The process of being traded or signed with another team is a hassle as the athlete must move to the teams respective city. This is why players prefer staying on the same team their entire career. However, a team prevents that from happening when it chooses not to commit to a multi-year contract at the expense of the player. In 2006, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens asked for a contract renegotiation to sign for more money and a longer number of years, however the team did not approve his request as it did not want to be tied down to a player for too long. Subsequently, Owens left the Eagles for the Dallas Cowboys and unjustly received much criticism. Many of the allegations that are directed towards traitorous, athletes are often time unfair. There are numerous reasons why an athlete would leave his team, such as better financial opportunities, winning prospects, or a lack of team commitment.
As a four year varsity volleyball player who is in the top one percent of her class academically, senior Kathleen Torres proves to be the ideal student-athlete. Oddly, Torress athletic career did not begin with volleyball. She played seven years of soccer from the age of five and participated in softball, basketball, track, and cross country as well. When she was nine years old, she sparked an interest in volleyball, I used to get so excited the days I had volleyball practice, noted Torres. In her first year of high school, she was the only freshman chosen for the varsity team and she remained the youngest player the following season. I learned to have confidence in myself and my abilities and to try my best every single game, said Torres. Unsurprisingly, she was chosen to be a co-captain at the start of her junior year. When I was a freshman, my upperclassmen teammates taught me the importance of team unity and being a family, not just a group of players on the court, commented Torres. She carried the team to California Interscholastic Federation quarterfinals. With all that experience under her belt, she is off to yet another promising season in the hopes of repeating last years success; she recently scored her personal best, 30 kills, during the September 13 match against Rancho Cucamonga High School. She is currently ranked 20th in the state for hitting, 79th in the country. Not only does she excel athletically, but Torres also boasts a 4.0 un-weighted grade point average. After this year, she will have taken seven Advanced Placement courses, eight Honors classes, and one International Baccalaureate class. I take challenging
classes so I can see what I am capable of achieving, said Torres. Aside from all the time put in to practices, matches, and studying, she actively participates in school and community activities. On campus, she is a member of Spanish Club, a three year member of California Scholarship Federation, an officer for Bottles for the Bay, former member of the United Student Body, and co-Founder/ co-President of Pocketful of Sunshine. In addition, Torres volunteers at the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa and coaches a youth volleyball team for the Boys and Girls Club in Whittier. I have been so fortunate throughout the years, I just want to give back and make a difference in other peoples lives, stated Torres. In the fall, she plans to apply to many prestigious colleges such as Columbia University, Harvard University, Stanford University, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, and Yale University. She wants to major in Biology and enter Pre-med. She has yet to decide whether or not to continue pursuing volleyball in college. Even with scholarship offers and notice from college scouts, Torres wants to focus on her school work. I think I will play if I can play for a school that has a good combination of athletics and academics like Stanford, said Torres. Torres does not let her success affect her dedication to her schoolwork or her performance by working hard in practice and keeping her grades up. Regardless of whichever road she chooses, Torres has paved the way to a bright future.

Winston Cho Asst. Sports Editor Last year, Diamond Bar High School athletics were deeply affected when the school switched from the Sierra League to the Hacienda League. Out of all DBHS sports, the football program improved the most as it went from a 1-9 record in 2009 to a 6-4 record in the 2010 season. Similarly, this year is full of change as head coach John Martin stepped down leaving Ryan Maine to take his place. The Brahmas lost their first game against Ayala High School, but managed to overcome adversity and defeat Wilson, Don Lugo, and Brea Olinda High School consecutively. On Friday September 2, the DBHS football team kicked off the pre-league season against the Ayala Bulldogs. The team scored no points in the first quarter and allowed the Bulldogs to score nine points. However, the Brahmas scored 10, 7, and 6 points in
26-6. By the end of the first quarter, the score was nearly tied with the Brahmas holding a slight edge of 7-6. However, the Brahma offense was relentless, scoring a touchdown every quarter. In addition to the focus on the offensive end, the team was equally effective defensively allowing no points the rest of the game. The Brahmas came into the Friday, September 23 game against Brea Olinda with a two-game winning streak. Yet, the Brahmas were not able to capitalize as they came up short to the Wildcats 34-6. We didnt play well at all, four turnovers and you cant win a game with mistakes like that, commented head coach Ryan Maine. The team goes into its league opener with a 2-2 record losing only to two strong teams. [The season] has its ups and downs, what matters most is league, stated Maine. The team plays on Friday, September 30 at home against the West Covina Bulldogs.
