The Scout Fundamentals

Scout Movement - A voluntary, non political educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by BP Movement - Series of organized activities working toward an objective - Implies both an objective to be achieved and some type of organization

Voluntary - Members adhere to Scouting by their own free will, accept the fundamentals of the movement Non political - Does not involved in struggle for power - Constitutionally required from all national association - Yet Scouting is divorced from political realities Educational - Process at aiming at the total development of a persons capacity

Scouting and Recreation - Scouting must be distinguished from recreation - Conceived as a means to an end, not as and end in themselves

Purpose of the Scouting movement

- The purpose of the Scout movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national, and international communities. BP

Principles of the Scout Movement - Fundamental laws and beliefs - Code of conduct Duty to God - Adherence to spiritual principles , loyalty to a supreme being that guides a Scouts life - Does not necessary to be religion Duty to others - Loyalty to one country - Participation in the development of Society, with respect to the dignity of fellowmwn

Duty to Self - Responsibility for the development of ones self, capacities, well being etc
