David Lodge seeks with this novella, Home Truths; awaken society to the present generation of journalists.

Generations that invest in creating stories that are based on the exploration of certain private lives of public figures. Fanny is a journalist who makes this portrait. One story who changes the behavior and attitudes of the characters throughout the story, some more predictable than others. As a reader, I think Sam is the most disgusting person in history, since because of his image at all costs try to engage your supposed best friend, Adrian, in his revenge against the journalist Fanny. Adrian haven't features that are repulsive, I think this is too passive and conformity with your life. It should be a stronger man with more personal and occupational projections to obtain the recognition of another era. Eleanor would have another attitude with Adrian and be more intolerant with Sam, from the moment he entered his home and kissed her. Lack of honesty, is one of the characteristics with which I dont identify. In my opinion Fanny is a journalist that although exposing people's lives is smart because its articles like the one she made about Sam is selling and holding readers. She is the character with which I identify more. She just does her job that I will do one day as of Communication Sciences student. Fanny was sarcastic in the text who wrote about Sam but she told the truth about him however said it in order to ruin his life. The turnaround happens when Adrian said A death can make a difference. Even the death of someone you never knew, if its sufficiently.... It is from the death of Princess Diana that regret came, mainly about the article that Fanny wrote about Princess Diana, I wouldve given anything to make it disappear, but it was too late, it was printed in black and white The author gives a lesson at the end of history and shows that are things more important than mere revenge, like the death of Princess Diana who changes the way the characters think and act about all. Humanization made some characters, passionate peoples.
