What terms/ideas/issues should be associated with the term evaluation? An ideal or model (student) An on-going learner Flourishing/thriving in all different always (not just 2nd directed learning) Change in cognitive development Initiative (less on the teacher, but students take on more) Autonomy of the learner Student-relationship (connectedness between all members) Respect for learning (feedback, dialogue) Energy (enjoyment) A common goal Different options for showing content is learned Mastery of some kind but not just discursive understandings

A definition: Evaluation is a systematic process of determining the merit or worth of an object (joint committee, 1994) Our object is, in this case, an educational program.
