PROJECT I11

Good evening teacher and classmates, today my classmate and I are going to present our project which is about Michael Jackson and how his birth order affected him.

Daniel: First of all, we have to know that Michael Jackson, who was the eight of eleven
children in an African American family, didnt have a normal life. Let me explain what I mean by didnt have a normal life. He sang since he was 6 years old so he was always famous. But he had to see both sides of this thing. He could enhance his ability to sing since he was very child, but being famous, he couldnt play normally with other children because Michael started to be asked many questions on the streets by people at the moment they saw him. He didnt have privileges as one of the youngest children of his family. His mom used to baby him but his father didnt treat him so well. His father just wanted him to learn how to sing and to project and image of a good singer. His father sometimes punished him when he didnt learn a lyric of a song. Thats why Michael Jackson never got along well with his father. His oldest brother, who had a band with other two brothers, set a good example for Michael and the other siblings. Then, when Michael was 8 years old, he joined this band. This is how The Jackson Five was created in 1972. He couldnt keep his grades up because he had to take on more responsibility being one of the singers in this band and simultaneously having to study with private teachers. In 1975 the name of the band was changed to The Jacksons because one more brother joined the band.

Denniz: But his father continued getting on his nerves because he wanted Michael to
be a know it all, but not using the right way. Because of this and because Michael didnt want to be in their brothers shadow, he started his career along at the age of 14 years old. He kept up being very famous and sometimes he helped their brothers, who also were increasing their fame. But he always stood out in their brothers due to his voice and how he used to dance. Several concerts were filled by him, especially for his distinctive manner of dancing. He had a good instinct to invent choreographies and to pick out and design flashy costumes. A black outfit with a white glove was usually paired by him for his concerts. He also got a nose job and some Botox injections. He used to buy expensive things. This is how his brothers, who lend him some money, got angry with him because Michael didnt pay them. Some people say that in the last years of his life, he and his brothers could make up. As we said, he was one of the youngest children in his family, but he was treated by his father like one of the oldest children. Sometimes he fought with his brothers and in other moments he could make up with them. Now their siblings remember him as their youngest brother. He showed us how singing and

dancing can go together in a really good way. remembering him. Words in Yellow: VOCABULARY Words in Green: GRAMMAR
