Popular game for many people (men & women) As a social sport The International Badminton Federation It became an Olympic competition in 1992

Intro
In Malaysia, Selangor is the first country that organize the badminton competition in 1929. Thomas Cup, Wong Peng Soon and Ong Poh Lim represent Malaysia to take part in this competition at Queen Hall in England.

How To Play?
1.

Scoring When they are serving. Service is started on the right hand side of your side of the court. If your score is odd(1,3,5..) you serve from the left side. If even (2,4,5..) on the right.

The technique of badminton 1. The forehand shot Should be able to clear the shuttle from one end of the court to the other without swinging your arm. Move your body hard into the shot to hit the shuttle harder.

2. The backhand shot Use your speed to play overhead shots around the head . Get into position by turning your back to the net to gain extra power in your backhand shots.

3. Backhand clearing First you need to position yourself correctly. Stand with your back facing the net. Turning your body around quickly to maximize energy transfer. When in position, point your elbow in the air at the shuttle, and cock your wrist.

The next step, you have to turn your body around you till face to the net again. Using the forearm technique in reverse to send that shuttle flying. When you make contact the shuttle should be above your right shoulder.

4. Smashing A low percentage shot that should only really be attempted if your opponent has hit a weak shot to the middle of the court. Turning your body and moving into the shot is more important here to get that additional bit of power.

5. Smash Returning When the smash comes in, pull your wrist back, and flick turn your forearm, as you return with your backhand. As you pull back, turn your forearm anticlockwise(right-handers).

b. Fast Drops Fast drop can be difficult to execute, as you are effectively hitting a gentle smash. Try to get up as high as possible, the higher you get steeper the angel you can get.

7. Net shots Net shots should be hits as early as possible, close to the top of the net. Force yourself to play the net shots early, by keeping your racket up around net height and bringing your racket down to take the shots.
