ABOUT GREENMINDS INC.

GreenMinds Inc. is a duly-registered twelve-year old, progressive, service and people-oriented, non-government organization based in Cagayan de Oro City. It was originally conceptualized and established by 5 individuals in U.P. Los Baos in response to the need for a group that shall focus mainly on earth-caring agriculture. The organization is devoted to the preservation and protection of our fragile environment through the practice and dissemination of ecological agriculture and fostering of the spirit of volunteerism.

Guided and nurtured by this mission, it focuses its energy and resources on the following basic yet essential services: Technology Transfer Trainings using available resources and alternative learning approaches, Sustainable livelihood, In-Farm and Community Waste Management, Ecological Farm Development and Advocacy

Endeavors geared towards the improvement of our marginal farmers and indigenous peoples lives. In its tenth year of humble existence, its timely endeavors have reached Misamis Oriental, Agusan Del Norte, Cotabato, Zamboanga, Bukidnon, Surigao del Norte, Lanao del Norte, Siargao Island, Antique, Iloilo, Cebu, Ormoc City, Tagaytay, Batangas and Laguna. These were conducted in collaboration with supportive agencies such as: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Advocacy Mindanow, Surigao del Norte NGO Coalition for Development (SUNGCOD), San Isidro College , Hagdan sa Pag-Uswag Foundation Inc., Taytay Sa Kauswagan Inc., Malampaya Foundation Inc., Foundation for Sustainable Society Inc. (FSSI), TEAR Fund New Zealand (TFNZ), Primer Group Philippines, Northern Mindanao Peanut Industry Association and

In line with its aim to improve and uplift from poverty the lives of our marginalized sector thru sustainable livelihood options and eco enterprises such as organic farming, it maintains an advocacy and fair trade network thru its membership in the Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP).

As of 2010, GreenMinds Inc. has ably trained 1,318 individuals, farmers, students and members of tribal communities such as the Mamanwa, Higaonon, Manobo, Subanen, Tausug and Maranao on ecological farming. Fifty-eight communities were able to establish food security gardens, practice eco-friendly and affordable farming

technologies and enjoy chemical-free vegetables.
