How To Simplify Expressions

How To Simplify Expressions Hello friends, once again I am here to explain you about few math topics. In this article we will put some light on equations and expressions. You all know that math has various branches and in school we start learning from all the basic concepts and then when we move to higher classes, we learn more about different branch and their topics. Algebra is one of the most popular branch of mathematics and many of us are familiar with it. Algebra is all about numbers, variables and how to perform operations on them. Algebra starts with equations and expressions. First tell me what is an equation and what do you understand by it? Yes, friends, it is defined as mathematical statement which shows the equality relation between different mathematical statements. Equation is formed with help of variables, constants, operators and most important thing that is equal symbol. I For example: x + 9 = 12,

In this we have 9 and 12 as constants, x as variable and + as operator. To calculate value of x we take 9 on the other side, on doing so we get, x = 12 -- 9, x=3 Thus, the value of x is 3 and the equation is solved. This is the way in which we solve equations, one thing to keep in mind is that the number of variables present in any equation must be equal to number of equation, if it is not so then you will not be able to calculate the value of variables. Now, move on to expressions, they are defined as mathematical phrases that don't contain any equal to symbol. Expression can contain numbers, constants variables operators but they will never contain an equal to symbol. This symbol is the main difference between equation and expression. With this you can easily distinguish between them. simplify expressions means reducing them or taking them in the form from where they can't be further reduced. To do so we just perform the operations on them and try to reduce them as much as we can. To simplify expressions take like terms together and then perform the respective operation. For example: 2x + 8x -- 4 + 9 -- 10 +5x, In this add all the x terms and constant terms, 15x -- 5. On simplifying this we get above expression which can't be further solved.
