All three companies are established leaders for their respective building materials used as the main components for drywall constructions to achieve optimum system performance. Boral and Rondo are related companies synonymous with their market leadership in gypsum board system solution while PRIMA fibre cement boards known for its superior water and impact resistant properties are supplied to over 60 countries worldwide. All three companies therefore serve to complement and enhance the delivery of drywall construction products and solution to builders in Malaysia and worldwide. Therefore it makes sense to insist on PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems for your drywall construction requirements.

Impact Resistant
PRIMA Premium Drywall is tested to the levels of fire resistance required by building codes and standards. Impact on walls come in three basic forms; soft body, abrasive and hard body. Each of these can affect the wall lining in different ways and consequently affect the choice of lining system. When PRIMA Premium Drywall are properly sealed and used in a certified sound rated assembly, these products will contribute to required sound transmission classification (STC) values. PRIMA Premium Drywall offer the following key advantages:

Water Resistant
The facing board in the PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems is PRIMAliner 9mm fibre cement board which has superior wet resistant properties. PRIMAliner is made from a recipe mix of cement, sand and pulp. PRIMAliner has been tested by various certification bodies and authorities for its water resistant properties. PRIMAliner superior water resistant property has been proven after passing the several test listed below:-
Test to AS 3991.5 : Resistance to Hot Water Soaking Test to AS 3991.6 : Resistance to Heat and Rain Test to AS 3991.7 : Resistance to Freeze and Thaw
Upon completion of the test, PRIMAliner remains intact and there were no signs of delamination or structural alteration observed on the test specimens.
Fire Resistant
All components that make up these drywall systems possess superior fire rating properties. The steel framing system is naturally non-combustible. The lining materials (fibre cement board & plasterboard) have been tested by SIRIM and classified as Class O building material under the Malaysia Uniform Building By-law 1984. The components/systems have been tested in SIRIM Berhad and PSB Singapore in accordance with BS 476: Fire tests on building material and structure. The test results are as follows:-
Fire Propagation Index of Performance, I < 12 (BS 476: Part 6) Surface Spread of Flame Class 1 (BS 476: Part 7) Non-load bearing drywall system One and Two hours rating (BS 476: Part 22)
Impact Resistant
PRIMA fibre cement boards ability to withstand impact is undoubted since it is a cement-sand based product with concrete-like strength. When used as a facing board of PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems, it is just the perfect durable and strong board for drywall construction to withstand hard knocks in areas of high traffic and rough handling. PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems have the advantage of being more solid and resistant to impact loads compared with traditional drywall systems. Impact loads come in three basic forms: soft body, abrasive as well as hard body. The drywall systems covered in this manual give you peace of mind knowing that you have already chosen or specified the systems that work.
Designing wall systems to achieve the required Sound Transmission Class (STC) value has been facilitated with the introduction of PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems. The acoustic properties of these systems have been tested in SIRIM Berhad Malaysia and PSB Singapore. The systems STC rating ranges from 45dB to 60dB.
Notes: 1. * These STC values are based on estimation only. 2. In order HCI systems to perform as tested, all components must install exactly as prescribed.

Fastening Requirement
The following fasteners are recommended to be used to construct the fire rated systems. Alternative fasteners with equivalent size and suitable head type can also be used, but may require additional work such as sheet pre-drilling prior to installation. PRIMAliner to Steel Frame Self-drilling, Self-embedding Head Screws Plasterboard to Steel Frame Bugle Head Plasterboard Screws Steel Frame Assembly Wafer Head Screws
To secure steel frame to masonry wall/slab, use 3mm diameter x 50mm long concrete nails or M8 anchor bolts spaced at 600mm maximum centres. Sheet Installation
Gypsum Board Underlay - Apply sheet horizontally, ensuring vertical sheet joint on one side of the stud does not coincide with the vertical sheet joint on the other side. PRIMAliner Lining - Apply sheet vertically, ensuring sheet joints on one side of the wall do not coincide with the sheet joints on the other side. PRIMAliner vertical sheet joints must not coincide to that of gypsum board. When applied in wet areas such as for washroom, ensure the wall system will not be subjected to still water. Please refer to HCIs comprehensive installation instruction.

Joint Systems
PRIMAliner sheet joints can be treated as described in the diagram, incorporating perforated paper jointing tape and plasterboard joint compound. Use only joint compound produced or supplied by reputable manufacturer. Best result can be achieved when both PRIMAliner edges have recesses. Jointing non-recessed edges should be avoided. If it becomes necessary to flush set over nonrecessed edges, the bedding layer, topping layer and finishing layer should be broadened to 200mm, 400mm and 600mm respectively. The combination of recessed edge and square edge is not suitable to be flush set. Flush Joint (Rebated Edge)

Expansion Joint
Vertical expansion joints must be provided to accommodate anticipated movement within a building. PRIMA Premium Drywall Systems require expansion joints to be located vertically as follow: Vertical expansion joints maximum spacing Steel frame Untiled walls Tiled walls 0.50mm to 0.75mm BMT 9.0m 4.8m 0.75mm to 1.15mm BMT 6.0m

Finishes
PRIMAliner can be decorated with 2 coats of 100% quality water-based acrylic paint. For general-purpose applications, there is no requirement for primers or sealers. Alternatively, the sheet surface can be decorated with wall covering materials, such as wall paper. In all cases, coating, coating manufacturers recommendations must be strictly adhered to. For wet area application, tile finishing may be preferable. 10
