Job Description Co-op Requirements: Our co-op program requires an individual be a full-time college student, have a formal arrangement with their academic institution, and be able to alternate full-time work and school semesters. The student may alternate between work and study for two or more terms. Description: Student works with C&S (Communication and Signals) field officers and staff on a variety of projects. Primary duties include assisting C&S officers with performing testing and maintenance on C&S facilities, assist with installing and commissioning of C&S equipment and systems, verification of accuracy of databases used in hump yards and train dispatching systems, assist incorporation of revisions to electronic drawings and schematics, assisting with deployment of new technology, and other duties. Student will have frequent trips to field locations accompanied by C&S supervision to oversee field activities to insure adherence to corporate and departmental standards and procedures. Skills: Must have knowledge and operational skills in electronics combined with competency in computer software applications. Knowledge of Windows, Access, Excel, Word, is preferred. Willingness to travel and work outdoors is required, as well as a willingness to work extended hours when situation dictates. General hands-on knowledge of electronic equipment is helpful, with good troubleshooting and problem solving skills being useful. Prefer: Students in BS Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology curriculum . Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment. Students should be eligible to work a rotation of three work semesters. Location: Atlanta, GA and various field locations throughout Norfolk Southern Hours: Monday - Friday - 7 AM - 4 PM (travel and extended hours as required for assignments)

Compensation: All co-ops will be paid according to the following salary rates: Freshman $2375/mo Sophomore $2667/mo Junior $2875/mo Senior $3125/mo Graduate $3500/mo *Temporary living allowance is available to those who qualify.
