West Nile Virus

As of September 4th, 48 states have confirmed cases of the West Nile Virus. Due to this past incredibly mild winter, mosquitos are rampant. Luckily, only 1 in 150 of the individuals infected with West Nile Virus will actually have severe symptoms. There have been 22 cases in the State of Georgia and a total of 3 fatalities so far this year. We at KKLA want to make sure that you and your child are safe. We recommend following the precautions recommended by the CDC by applying bug repellent to yourself and to your child daily. The most frequent time of mosquito activity is at dusk and at dawn; however, they can bite at any time.

Our 3rd Birthday Party

Thank you to all who came to our birthday party!

We had a wonderful time at our birthday party on August 25th! Thank you to everyone that came and celebrated this great day with us! We had Wayne from Waynes Trains come and give free rides to kids and adults! We had bubbles, face painting, animal balloons, and dogs! It was a wonderful day and we were so blessed to have spent it with all of you! We had over sixty people come and around fourteen people come to see what KKLA is all about. Here are some pictures from the event.

From the Owners

KKLA needs your help! We are looking for volunteers in our classrooms - to read, or be a party host for a party event, or just come and be part of the learning environment. We are also looking for tutors to volunteer one hour/day to work with our school-age children. If you are interested in volunteering your time (or know of someone who would be interested) please contact the school office. -Tom and Amy Harbst

Book Review
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? This book is fun for infants to Pre-K. Babies enjoy the rhyming and the repetition and toddlers and Pre-K children enjoy naming the colors and making the animal sounds along with pointing out body parts. You can also make a game for the children by asking them to point out the colors in the book and find them in your house.
