Spiritual Underpinnings of The Healing Codes

While the book, The Healing Code, explains some oI our philosophy and where we`re
coming Irom spiritually, this will go in a bit more detail as to how we see this new mode
oI healing Iitting into our world view, which is based on the Bible.
Let me say Irom the outset that I am not trying to push this spiritual viewpoint on anyone.
his document is Ior inIormational purposes only, since I am oIten asked various
questions Irom people oI diIIerent spiritual persuasions what my belieIs are. ou may or
may not agree with my stance. ou will, however, know what it is.
My coauthor, Dr. Ben Johnson, and I are Iollowers oI Jesus who believe the Bible reveals
ruth. I dont like to call myselI a Christian, Ior the Iollowing reason.
he term 'Christian means diIIerent things to many diIIerent people, and lots oI them
are bad. his negative connotations have been rightly earned. Some oI the greatest
atrocities ever visited upon mankind have been done by so-called Christians, and in the
name oI Jesus. So, when you say the word 'Christian, there is no telling what it means
to the particular person youre talking to.
I myselI had to get over certain things in my own religious upbrining. It literally took me
decades to recover enough to believe in the true od, who is love. I do NO consider
myselI to be religious. I try very hard to be spiritual and trust the od oI love.
I know that many oI my Iellow believers get nervous when they hear about 'energy
healing, so this document is meant to explain my own understanding oI how this Iits into
a biblical worldview.
When I discovered he Healing Codes in 2001 and began to realize it was something
bigger than just some cool thing that healed my wiIe`s depression, I had to hit the
'pause button to make sure this was something that od was truly behind.
For me that meant taking time to pray, to search the Scriptures, and to consult with other
believers I respected, such as my spiritual mentor and my pastor.
In doing those things, I came to the conviction that this new healing mode was deIinitely
in line with biblical teaching.
BeIore I get into the scriptures that I believe Iorm the spiritual basis Ior practicing he
Healing Codes without reservation, let me emphasize Iirst that this is a healing mode that
applies quantum physics to healing. It is not a drug that deals with issues at a molecular
level, but an approach that addresses issues at the level oI energy.
It is also a healing mode that works Ior anyone, no matter what they believe. Because it`s
based on how od created our bodies and how he created the universe to work, it works

according to the natural laws he set up, just as gravity works. No matter what you
believe, iI you jump Irom a three-story building, you will get hurt!
A Matter of Energy
It was back in 1925 that Albert Einstein showed the world that emc

, and while most oI
us accept that Einstein was right, Iew oI us realize what it means (apart Irom the atom
bomb). et quantum mechanics is a valid science that shapes our lives in numerous ways.
According to Wikipedia. 'Quantum mechanics has had enormous success in explaining
many oI the Ieatures oI our world. he individual behaviour oI the subatomic particles
that make up all Iorms oI matterelectrons, protons, neutrons, photons and otherscan
oIten only be satisIactorily described using quantum mechanics.
'Much oI modern technology operates at a scale where quantum eIIects are signiIicant.
Examples include the laser, the transistor (and thus the microchip), the electron
microscope, and magnetic resonance imaging. he study oI semiconductors led to the
invention oI the diode and the transistor, which are indispensable Ior modern electronics.
Quantum tunneling is vital in many devices, even in the simple light switch, as otherwise
the electrons in the electric current could not penetrate the potential barrier made up oI a
layer oI oxide. Flash memory chips Iound in SB drives use quantum tunneling to erase
their memory cells.
he Healing Codes system applies quantum mechanics to the realm oI healthphysical
and emotional.
I go into all this because it is important to realize that he Healing Codes system is based
on the way od created the world. In enesis 1, it says od created all that is. He created
energy. He set in motion the laws oI physics, including quantum physics, the way DNA
codes our cells, the way the planets move in their orbitseverything. And od made it
all verv good (enesis 11).
Energy is the basis oI he Healing Codes, and energy, as something od created, is in
itselI good. (Some people believe that energy itselI is od. We reject that. od made
energy, and is apart Irom and over above his creation.)
What about Mysticism?
So iI we believe energy exists, and that it is good, the next question is, Is it spiritually
okay Ior me to use it
enesis 12 says that od gave human beings the authority to rule over creation. od
has given us the right to use the things he has madeincluding energy.
OI course, anything in creation can be used by human beings Ior good and bad ends.
Anything, including energy, can be used to destroy (as the atom bomb proves) or to heal.
he Healing Codes use energy to heal.

One oI the issues Ior some people is that a lot oI 'energy healing is associated with a
philosophy more compatible with Eastern mysticism than anything else.
We do not believe there is a necessary correlation between a quantum physics-based
healing approach and Eastern mysticism. Nor do quantum physicists. According to
Wikipedia, 'he leading writers in the Iield oI quantum philosophy were not crank`
New Age authors but highly experienced physicists such as FritjoI Capra, David Bohm,
John Wheeler and aul Davies. hese physicists started to interpret quantum theory Irom
an idealist philosophical perspective, that is to say, the concept that mind produces
matter. he physics oI consciousness is now a major and respected branch oI quantum
theory.
sing energy to heal is based on quantum mechanics, on the way od put together the
universe. he Iact that some use it and come Irom diIIerent philosophical perspectives
does not have to invalidate the use oI energy healing itselI. As in most things in liIe, there
can be more than one interpretation oI an observable reality. Eastern mysticism has
oIIered one interpretations oI the observations oI quantum mechanics. We believe there
can be a biblical interpretation as well.
he best biblical example I can Iind Ior how to approach this is Iound in the example oI
the Corinthian church.
One oI the big issues in the Corinthian church was whether it was okay to eat meat that
was sacriIiced to idols. Some people realized the meat was just meat, because idols were
not real. Others believed that it would be wrong to eat meat that was sacriIiced to an idol,
because it`s somehow participating in idol worship, or at the least giving the impression
that you don`t have a problem with that belieI system. (Akin to saying that iI you use
energy medicine that is also used by those who hold a diIIerent belieI system, you must
subscribe to that belieI system.)
How did the Apostle aul address this issue His answer is brilliant in its simplicity and
shows the loving nature oI od. He did not play into the anger or Iear oI the Corinthians,
but addressed the real issue. And he did it in truth and love.
In 1 Corinthians , aul says, in eIIect, 'emember Iirst who od is the one who made
everything in heaven and earth. ou know that, and you`re living Ior him. ou believe in
the one Father and the one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom od made everything and
through whom we have been given liIe. So he reminds them what they believe, and that
they know the truth.
hen he tells them, basically, that meat is just meat. It was created by od, and it is in
itselI good Ior Iood. When used Ior a od-given purpose (to nourish the body), there is
absolutely nothing wrong with it, even though it has been sacriIiced to idols, because
when the Christian who knows the truth about od eats it, he`s using it as od intended,
Ior nourishment. he additional 'baggage oI Ialse worship does not apply to the
Christian who knows it`s just meat, and that idols are not real.

he only reason you might not be Iree to eat it, aul says, is iI it might make someone
else stumble in their Iaith. Everything should be done out oI love. But other than that
caveat, aul says the meat is just meat. It`s not been made evil in itselI because it was
used in pagan worship. He makes a clear separation between the meat, and the meaning
attached to it by those who used it in the worship oI idols.
In a similar way, iI we use energy, which od has created, to heal, based on the science
oI quantum physics (which is the study oI how od set things up to work in the
universe), that is perIectly biblical. When we use what od has made Ior a godly
purpose, then we sanctiIy it.
What a sad thing to avoid something out oI Iear that od intends to bless us. II we say we
cannot use energy medicine to heal because those who hold other views oI od use it,
isn`t that buying into the lie they believe, and depriving ourselves oI a blessing
emember, Jesus said the thieI (Satan) has one purpose to steal and kill and destroy.
Jesus, on the other hand, came to give us a rich and satisIying liIe, an abundant liIe. (John
1010)
Is healing the issues oI the heart od`s intention he whole Bible says yes. Satan,
however, desires to steal our peace and destroy our health and relationships.
Jesus also says one way to discern what is oI od is to look at the Iruit. estimonials oI
healing oI all kinds can be Iound at www.healingheartissuesinIo.com and in The Healing
Code. his includes spiritual healing. Many people, believers or not, have 'heart issues
concerning Ialse views oI od and bad religious experiences. As these are healed, they
are open to the truth about od and are able to experience him in new ways. (As
mentioned, it took me 10 years to get over some oI the Ialse views oI od Irom my own
religious upbringing.)
We all come to the true od with distortions oI who he really is. he Healing Codes
allow od to correct those distortions, and I believe this is part oI the healing process and
what makes he Healing Codes so powerIul.
Does God Heal No?
Does od want to heal people
Consider that one oI the purposes oI Jesus` sacriIice on the cross was to bring us healing.
'It was our sicknesses he carried, it was our diseases that weighed him down. He was
beaten so we could be made whole. He was whipped so we could be healed (Isaiah 5,
5b). John 2 says, 'I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you
are strong in spirit. Jesus healed many sick people oI all kinds oI ailments when he was
on earth.
In John 5, Jesus asked a lame man at the pool oI Bethesda a haunting question, 'Would
you like to get well he man said, 'I can`t, but Jesus told him to do what he thought

he could not 'Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk! He didn`t believe at Iirst, but
something about Jesus made him do what he said. Somehow he believed that Jesus
wanted to make him welland he was healed.
erhaps the only thing standing between you and the healing od wants Ior you is the
Iaith that in Iact, he desires to heal you.
The Bibles Stance on Ne Ideas
I Iind it Iascinating that scripture has many examples oI people who were Iaced with
something new and balked at using it.
One example that concerns healing speciIically is the story oI Naaman the leper. In 2
ings 5, Naaman, commander oI the army oI ing Aram oI Syria, was stricken with
leprosy. A little girl, a Jew who had been carried oII to Syria during a raid on Israel, was
the servant oI Naaman`s wiIe. She told her mistress about a prophet in Israel who could
cure him.
No doubt desperate Ior healing, Naaman approached the king and asked Ior permission to
go see this prophet. he king let him go with a letter to the ing oI Israel.
Naaman brought along all kinds oI giIts. But he went Iirst to the king oI Israel, who cried
out that he wasn`t od and couldn`t cure anyone oI leprosy. But Elisha the prophet heard
about it, and told ing Ahab to send Naaman to him.
So Naaman went to see Elisha, bringing all his giIts. Elisha didn`t even bother to come
out to meet him, but sent a message with a simple step 'o and wash in the Jordan iver
seven times, and you will be healed.
his greatly displeased Naaman. Didn`t Elisha know who he was Didn`t he see all the
expensive giIts Naaman had brought Elisha could at least have come out to speak with
Naaman himselI!
Naaman was also oIIended at the advice itselI. 'I expected him to wave his hand over the
leprosy and call on the name oI the Lord his od and heal me! (verse 11). Elisha`s
method made no sense to Naaman. He turned away in anger. Elisha`s approach was not
what he expected, so he spurned it.
His men tried to persuade him. 'II the prophet haD told you to do something very
diIIicult, would you not have done it So you should certainly obey him when he says
simply, Wash and be cured!` hey had been listening. hey heard that Elisha had said
he`d be cured. 'What have you got to lose It`s such a simple thing to try, they reasoned.
So Naaman gave in, did what the prophet had told him--and was healed.

he Healing Codes may seem strange to you. It is not an approach that many oI us are
used to grasping. It is based on new ideas that are coming Irom science, and Irom a Iresh
look at Scripture in light oI this new science.
It is simpleso simple that it seems 'too good to be true. et thousands oI people Irom
all over the world, with all kinds oI issues, have tried it and Iound it works.
roverbs 115 says, 'An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear oI the wise
seeks knowledge. he NL renders it, 'Intelligent people are always open to new ideas.
In Iact, they look Ior them.
In Acts 1 11, Luke says, 'the people oI Berea were more open-minded than those in
hessalonica, and they listened eagerly to aul`s message. hey searched the Scriptures
day aIter day to see iI aul and Silas were teaching the truth. As a result, many believed.
he Bereans set a pattern Ior all Christians. Check out he Healing Codes with an open
mind and search the Scriptures to see iI this is in accordance with the truth. his is what I
had to do beIore I could take he Healing Codes to the world, and this is what I invite
you to do.
The One Danger of The Healing Codes
here is one danger oI using he Healing Codes Ior a Christian believer.
It`s possible to rely on the technique rather than the od who works through the
technique.
his is a danger that is not unique to use oI he Healing Codes, however. Any good thing
can be relied on instead oI od, even religious activity. In Iact, most oI the New
estament epistles were written because Christians so easily began to rely on outward
things to obtain what only od could give (circumcision, rituals, Iollowing certain
leaders, etc.).
ou can overdo or use wrongly any good thing, and then it becomes a hindrance. ou
can exercise too much and depend on that to keep you healthy, rather than od. ou can
also rely on doctors or medication to heal you instead oI od.
As always, it comes down to where your heart is. It is in trusting in od ultimately, and
using the means he provides (including wise health habits, medicine where appropriate,
and he Healing Codes), that you allow od to work in the way he desires.
What a Healing Code Cannot Do
It`s important Ior me to note a couple oI things here.
First, the one who heals is od. he Healing Codes provide one possible avenue oI
healing. I always suggest praying Iirst, Ior od might choose to heal directly, without any
natural means such as medicine or he Healing Codes.

Second, all he Healing Codes do is address the 'issues oI the heart that Solomon said
in roverbs 2 are the source oI all issues in liIe. It does that primarily by helping you
locate the lies you believe and replacing them with truth. What did Satan do in the
arden in Eden with Eve He got her to believe a lie and distrust od. hat is the heart
oI all oI our sin, right there. he Healing Codes help you address the lies lurking in your
heart, and replace them with truth.
One oI the themes throughout the Bible is that all oI our issues are matters oI the heart.
It`s the heart that receives or rejects od`s truth. hree times in Ezekiel od says he will
give his people a new heart, one that is responsive to him. Jesus said it`s what comes out
oI the heart that deIiles us, not what goes into the body (Matthew 15). od`s supreme
concern is Ior the heart! 'uard your heart above all else, Ior Irom it Ilow the issues oI
liIe, Solomon said (roverbs 2).
he Healing Codes also help you address hidden Iears. In dozens oI places in the Bible
we are told not to be aIraid oI things that should not cause us Iear (Jeremiah 1, Joshua
19, Luke 11, 2 ings 115and the list goes on and on.). od does not want Iear to
rule our lives. He wants us to trust him.
Science now catches up with the Bible and conIirms that Iear and Ialsehood are what
send out the stress signals, the negative Irequencies, that broadcast danger to our cells and
cause them to shut down. All the research agrees at least 95 oI our issues arise Irom
stress.
he Healing Codes are like a gardening tool you can use to clear away the rocks oI
unhealthy belieIs and the weeds oI Iear so that the seed oI truth can take root. As in the
parable oI the sower (which some say is really about the soils), it`s so important what
kind oI soil the seed Ialls into. he Healing Codes prepare the soil. hey are not the seed
itselI. od`s truth is the seed, and the seed alone carries the liIe. he hoe does not have
liIe. It`s just a tool.
So use this tool as you would use exercise or vitamins to get and stay healthy. It`s a new
tool, yes, and takes some getting used to Ior some oI us. (Not unlike the computer and
cell phones that are based on quantum mechanics)
his healing tool works amazingly well, but it will never heal completely in this liIe. he
Healing Codes will not make you live Iorever. Only od can do that. ou can use he
Healing Codes to 'till the soil, and I hope you do. hey will work Ior this purpose Ior
anyone, regardless oI belieIs, just as anyone can use a hoe to dig up weeds. No matter
what they believe or look like, no matter what their background is, iI they use the hoe in
the proper way, they can remove the weeds.
Which takes us right back to the arden oI Eden, where the Iirst work Adam was given
was to 'tend and guard and keep the garden. He was to both cultivate (develop) it and

guard it. In Matthew 1, Jesus says the heart is soilyet another garden image. he issue
is what kind oI soil the seed oI od`s truth will Iall upon.
