Previously on LOST:
Woman:
Where is Alex?
Jack:
Alex? Who’s Alex?
The camera reopens as Jack and Kate lie on the bed, panting.
They look around the room and see the woman watching them
again. She sits in silence for a moment before saying again:
Woman:
Where is Alex?
Kate:
We don’t know any Alex!
Woman:
Tell me where she is! Or I will hurt you.
Jack:
Honestly, you have to believe us! We don’t know any Alex.
Kate:
We were on a plane crash! About a week ago... We don’t know
anyone called Alex. No one from the plane has that name.
Woman:
Plane...? Alex wasn’t on a plane...
Jack:
Please, you have to believe us. We’re not lying to you.
Woman:
You’re one of them aren’t you?
Jack:
Who are them?
Woman:
You’re lying!

Commercial Break
Boone:
How long do you expect them to believe that we’re actually
looking for Walt? You’ve just given up. It’s like you don’t care
anymore.
Locke:
Of course I care. But I don’t know where to look. If you know, I’d
be happy for you to share it with me?
Boone:
Of course I don’t know.
Locke:
Alright then. We continue doing what we’re doing until we get
further instructions.
Boone:
‘Further instructions’? From who?!
Locke:
The island.
Libby:
Boone, this is Hurley. My new boyfriend.
Boone:
I’ve heard so much about you, Hurley. It’s nice to finally meet
you.
Hurley:
All of it good, I hope. Yeah, it’s nice to meet you too Boone.
Boone:
So where did you guys meet?
Libby:
Santa Rosa.
Boone:
Ahhh. Say no more. Well I’m happy for you Libby. I’m glad
you’ve finally found someone. And it’s nice to meet you Hurley.
But if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and entertain my guests.
We see Sayid, Nadia, Sun, Jin and Charlie all together in the
middle of making a shelter for someone. They are using metal
from the plane and pieces of wood from the jungle. Jin seams
to be better now.
Sayid:
Pass me that bit of wood would you, Nadia?
Charlie:
Just the tarp for the room now.
Charlie takes one end of the tarp and Sayid takes the other.
Together, they drape it over the top of the shelter and begin to
tie it on.
Charlie:
And voila! One shelter!
The camera pans around the camp to show that other people
are putting shelters up too.
Sun:
Has anyone returned yet?
Sayid:
Well Locke and Boone came back late last night. They didn’t
find anything. They’re still out there now, looking. And Jack and
Kate haven’t been back at all.
Nadia:
I hope they’re ok.
Jin:
They... will be.
Once again, we see the woman stood watching Jack and Kate.
They’re panting slightly, after being electricuted again.
Jack:
Honestly, we’re not these ‘Others’ that you speak of!
Woman:
Really?
Woman:
So who are you?
Jack:
I’m Jack. I’m a doctor. I was on the plane when it crashed! And
this is Kate.
Kate:
Who... who are you?
Woman:
Danielle. Danielle Rousseau.
The woman comes forward and released Jack and Kate. They
get up from the bed, rubbing their wrists.
Kate:
And how did you get here?
Rousseau:
I was... apart of a science team. We shipwrecked on the island.
The woman has a dazed look upon her face, as though she is
talking to herself, rather than talking to Jack and Kate.
Jack:
How long ago?
Rousseau:
16 years ago! Has it... really been that long?! My God...
Jack:
Where’s the rest of your team then?
Rousseau:
They died. The sickness. They fell sick and died. The carriers...
Jack:
Carriers? Sickness? What are you going on about?
Rousseau:
And the Others... they took Alex!
Commercial Break
Woman:
Come in!
Boone opens the door and walks into the room. He sits down in
front of a woman at a desk. There is a plaque at the front of the
desk saying: ‘Sabrina Carlyle’.
Boone:
Hey, Mom.
Sabrina:
Hey Boone. What can I do for ya’?
Boone:
I’d umm... like to hand in my resignation.
Sabrina:
What?!
Boone:
I got a new job. Sorry, but this one opens more opportunities for
me.
Sabrina:
Very well. You will have to work 2 weeks notice. And then you
can go.
Boone:
Mom...
Sabrina:
Please, Boone, I’m busy. I’ll see you later.
Locke:
We’re nearly there.
They round the corner and disappear from view for a moment.
The camera follows them round as we see Locke kneeling low
on the ground. He pulls aside some vines on the ground and
reveals a thick glass window in the middle of a grey metal door.
A hatch. Boone is stood watching him.
Boone:
Any ideas on how we are going to get in? There’s no handle.
The glass is to thick to break.
Locke:
I’m thinking about it.
Boone:
Yeah, alright then.
Boone kneels down on the ground and stares off into the
jungle. The camera cuts to:
Rousseau:
How many survived the crash?
Jack:
I don’t know really. About 42. But... three of them have gone.
Rousseau:
Gone? Gone where?
Kate:
There was this man. In our camp. He was pretending to be one
of us, one of the survivors. We had this radio from the cockpit
of the plane. And we thought we had contacted rescue.
Jack:
So this helicopter came, a few days after we crashed. And took
four of out people, including the man. And then we learned the
man wasn’t on the plane. He was already on this island...
Rousseau:
The Others... You’ve actually seen them?
Jack:
Well one of them. Haven’t you?
Rousseau:
No... But they whisper. In the jungle. I hear them. They took
Alex...
Kate:
Who’s Alex?
Rousseau:
And then I was left here, alone.
Jack:
But you’re not alone. That man.
Rousseau:
What man?
Jack:
He was with you... when we followed you. He knocked us out.
Kate:
What’s that?!
Rousseau:
The bear...
Rousseau jumps up and grabs a shotgun. She rushes to the
stairs and exits the bunker. The camera fades to black.
Commercial Break.
We see Boone sat down at the dining table with Libby. They are
drinking coffee and talking happily.
Libby:
So you got the job then?
Boone:
Yeah, I sure did.
Libby:
Congratulations.
Boone:
Thanks. Mom didn’t take to too happy though. That I’d be
leaving.
Libby:
You know what she’s like, though.
Boone:
Yeah. To be honest, I knew she would react like that.
Libby:
So when do you officially start at Widmore Corporations?
Boone:
Next Monday.
Libby:
You nervous?
Boone:
A little. But it’s not like I don’t know anyone these, is it?
Libby:
Yeah, did she help you get the job like?
Boone:
I think she put in a few good words.
Libby:
Well like I said before, I’m happy for you Boone.
Locke is still sat staring at the hatch and Boone is still staring
out into the jungle.
Boone:
You have any ideas yet?
Locke:
No, not yet.
Boone:
Couldn’t we make something to hit it? Something big and
heavy? Or we could try the axe from the plane? Or... why don’t
we dig some more to see if there’s a bottom?
Locke:
All good ideas.
Boone:
Really?
Locke:
Come on. Let’s dig.
Both Boone and Locke begin to dig in the mud around the
hatch door as the camera cuts to:
We see Jack and Kate coming out of some bushes after exiting
Rousseau’s bunker. They make their way through the trees.
Kate:
What now?
Jack:
We go back.
Jack and Kate run off into the jungle as the camera fades to
black.
