I.Introduction A.Title : Frankenstein B.Author: Mary Shelley ; Was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin in Somers town,London in 1797.She was an English Romantic Novelist ,Biographer, and editor , best known for her novel Frankenstein , which she started to write at age eighteen and was published when she was twenty-one. C.Overview: At an early age , victor Frankenstein already has a fascination with the structure of the human body and that of animals. His curiosity with the source of lifes leads him to study of deathobserving the human body in the progress of decay. Examining bones, and rotting corpses. In time, he discovers that he has the power to create life by bringing dead matter to life . He decides to create a human being a giant, about eight feet tall, with a proportionally large body. The creature opens its dull yellow eyes; it breathes and shudders, and then its limbs begin to move. His yellow skin barely covers his muscles and arteries, and his watery eyes and straight black lips are in frightening contrasts to his black hair and starkly white teeth.

Monster- The creature created by Victor , The eight-foot-tall, hideously ugly creation of Victor Frankenstein. Intelligent and sensitive, the monster attempts to integrate himself into human social patterns, but all who see him shun him. Elizabeth- An orphan adopted by Victors mother, Victors wife, killed by the monster on their honeymoon. Henry- Victors best friend who helps Victor in his time of need. M. Waldman - The professor of chemistry who sparks Victors interest in science. He dismisses the alchemists conclusions as unfounded but sympathizes with Victors interest in a science that can explain the big questions, such as the origin of life. M. Mr. Kirwin - The magistrate who accuses Victor of Henrys murder. Justine Moritz - A young girl adopted into the Frankenstein household while Victor is growing up. Justine is blamed and executed for Williams murder, which is actually committed by the monster. The De Lacey family- M. De Lacey, Felix, Agatha, and Safie. The monster's adopted family. Exiled from France for treason against their government. Margaret Saville- Robert's sister. Robert writes to her detailing the events that transpire on the voyage and Victor's story William Frankenstein- Victor's youngest brother who is killed by the monster. Symbolically, William's murder is the turning point of the novel, when turmoil engulfs the Frankenstein family and all innocence is lost in the family. Also, William's death signals for the reader the end of Victor's belief that his actions can have no consequences..

Synopsis (Per Chapter) Chapter 1 Victor Frankenstein was come from Geneva, his father was a government official, and his mother was the daughter of a well to-do merchant, he was born in Naples. When he was five years old , his mother go to the shores of lake Como , upon a poor cottage in the valley , his mother met a orphan child , his mother convinced her guardians to let her take the child, they called her Elizabeth , Victor and Elizabeth called each other cousin Chapter 2 The difference of Victor and Elizabeth drew them closer to each other , while Elizabeth was calm and focused , Victor was passionate and thirsted for knowledge. Victor got a brother name Ernest, they family moved back to Geneva. Victor went on a vacation to thonon, he was at an inn when he discovered a book on the works of Cornelius Agrippa. He fascinated as he read it. When they returned home, he brought more books of Agrippa, and also of Paracelsus and Albertus Magnus , Victor became their disciple. Chapter 3 Victors mother, died of scarlet fever when he was seventeen. His mothers last word was that she hoped Elizabeth and him would someday marry. Soon after his mother death, he begin his studies at the University of Ingolstadt.

He arrived at Ingolstadt after a very long journey. He met M. Krempe , a professor of natural philosophy.he dont like M. Krempe because he was gruff and unrefined. But he liked M. Waldman, the professor of chemistry. M. Waldman took Victor into his laboratory and showed Victor his instrument and books that he needed to have. For him that was the very memorable , because it was the day that he decided his destiny. Chapter 4 Victor became serious about the structure of the human body, he spent many days and nights examining bones and rotting corpses in vaults and charnel houses, and watched as decomposing bodies suddenly bloomed with worms, and it was the night that he struck by a brilliant but simple idea. His discovery enabled him to bring dead matter to life. Winter, spring, and summer passed but he paid no attention to anything but gruesome task. He stayed away from everyone. There was only one thing on his mind, and that was to finish his creation. Chapter 5 Victor succeeds in bringing his creation, an eight-foot man, to life in November of his second year. Excited and disgusted at "the monster " he had created, he runs from the apartment. He wanders the streets of Ingolstadt until Henry Clerval finds him in poor condition. Henry had come to see about his friend and to enroll at the university. Henry and Victor return to Victor's apartment to find the monster gone. Victor finds the disappearance of his monster a source of joy and falls down in a fit of exhaustion from the release of anxiety over his creation. Henry spends the rest of the winter and spring nursing Victor back to health after the tumultuous fall. Henry advises Victor to write home, as a letter had recently arrived from his family in Geneva.
