Dear Valued Partner, The 2012 Dynamo Charities season thus far has been a tremendous step in the growth of impact that the Houston Dynamo has made on the community of Houston. Through support of our sponsors some of the highlights include; Raised and donated over $150,000 to more than a dozen organizations in the Greater Houston area including; Methodist Sports and Rehab Clinic, Junior Achievement, Texas Chapter, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society , Ronald McDonald House, Methodist Cancer Center, TX Chapter Paralyzed Veterans, Curing Childrens Cancer Fund, American Diabetes Association, Houston Parks and Recreation Department, Methodist Hospital Foundation, Rice University Sports Management Program, University of St Thomas Athletic Program, Playworks Foundation, Devereux Treatment Centers, Recipe for Success Foundation and St Vincent Home, Pink Door and Houston Children's Charities Collected over 3,000 lbs. of mixed recyclables resulting in 26 trees saved, 6,116 KWH of energy conserved, 10, 430 gallons of water preserved, 5 cubic yards of landfill saved and 881 lbs. of air pollution eliminated Impacted 533 students in grades K-8 at the Rusk School in the areas of financial education and the importance of reading, including building a reading nook in the school library for students enjoy; In partnership with the BBVA Compass Foundation, Dynamo Charities volunteers and staff made a significant impact on our neighbors in Houstons East End. Three (3) homes owned by low income elderly citizens were chosen to receive exterior home repairs including window replacements, new roofs, wheel chair accessible ramps and painting and carpentry repairs 1,500+ Servicemen and women attended as guests of the Dynamo Collected food to serve 7500 meals for Houston Food Bank
