I stand tall, branches stretched toward the light, rooted my only sound the rustle of leaves and branches arising in concert with the wind. The sun warms my body My shadow spreads over the hills. Ive been here hundreds of years and have seen it all the fox stalking a rabbit the badger sniffing the air the girl crying at my feet Fenians plotting against English rule the raven with great black wings gliding with the updrafts and downdrafts its raucous cry signaling joy I am here seeing all speaking to whoever can hear
