PLANNING INTERNSHIP DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 13-3 $15.00 - $17.00 Per Hour/DOQ No Benefits

Postmarked applications are not accepted. DURATION OF INTERNSHIP GENERAL PURPOSE January 15, 2014 or upon graduation, whichever comes first. The City of Tukwilas Department of Community Development seeks a Planning Intern. The position will assist other planners in both current and long range planning projects such as sign permit review, comprehensive plan updates, and SketchUp modeling. The position provides an excellent opportunity to obtain paid, entry level planning experience with a fast paced Planning Office. The position will be expected to work independently with very little supervision. Self starters and those that think outside the box are strongly encouraged to apply. Hours can be flexible around school schedule; provided the assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner and quality work is demonstrated. Hours can be increased during scheduled breaks from school (i.e. winter break, spring break, and summer break). Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and enrolled in college and have a clear driving record. The internship is not limited to students seeking degrees in Urban Planning. Students who have an interest in real estate, economic development, law, government, and/or public service are strongly encouraged to apply. The requirement to be enrolled in college is not negotiable.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (A) Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers License.
