Countless of ap plicants were seen and interviewed. Alas, none had met his standard. Sir, I m sorry, but we are all tired. It s past ten in the evening already. We won t be productive this way. His secretary pleads. I m sorry, Lisa, Sonny. I didn t realize the time. You may go now. I ll just finish som e things. Thank you sir. And may I remind you that you have an early flight tomorrow for Ja pan. Yes, thank you. Do you need anything else, sir? she asks hoping for a negative.

No thank you, Lisa. I have everything ready for tomorrow. It was never the same since the day a certain nanny had left the house. Sometime s he d imagine her voice through the walls, telling Abby about the King and the Pr incess. Sometimes, late at night, he d wish Maya would come to his office to bring him his favorite coffee. Most of the time, he would wish on a star, to bring hi m back to the time when she told him that he was her crush; For he had already c onfirmed to himself that he was in love with her. And if his wish would be grant ed, he would admit to her his true feelings. Richard Lim lulled himself to sleep, imagining the non-singing voice of Maya sin ging to him their duet. That night, he had dreams of Maya wearing his ring.

Good morning and welcome to Pacific Flights. Please direct your attention to the cabin crew near you as we demonstrate the safety features of this flight. God, even when I m conscious I hear Maya s voice through others. He thought to himse lf. Richard stretched himself in his Business class seat and opened his file folder. There is simply no time for this man to rest. As the plane was in the desired a

Upon returning to his seat, he strapped on his seatbelt and once again opened hi s folder to read. In his periphery, two small hands placed a cup of hot coffee o n his tray table. I m sorry, I didn t ask he looked up for coffee the very hallucination he kept on having.

he was dumbstruck! Looking down on him

Are you real? He whispers as he reaches up to touch her face. Once. Twice. Hello po, sir chief. He confirms his assumptions as the lady greets him with twink ling eyes. Richard s jaw drops open. Nag-iba po ba ako ng anyo? Richard hastily tries to remove his seatbelt, but with clumsy trembling hands, h e fails. Maya chuckles and offers to help him. She places her hands on top of hi s and removes his seatbelt, at the same time lightly brushing his abs (A/N: droo l) and the junction between his hips and thighs. After shivering from the contact, he stands up to give Maya a hug but Maya stops him with her hands. Ops, sir chief, I m working right now. If you d like, I could give you a big hug when we arrive in Hong Kong. Hong Kong?! His face pales. This plane is bound for Japan! Didn t you hear it

No sir chief, Hong Kong po. You thought it was for Japan? he nods. on the announcement?

I think I was either distracted, sleepy, or I just wasn t listening. His eyebrows fo rm a V on his forehead. How on earth could I have gotten in the wrong flight? The y did all the checks. Maya, what do I do? Suddenly he had lost control of all he can do. We ll figure this out when we arrive. For now, wala po tayong magagawa. Tutulungan kita doon sa office so you can get a cheap, if not free flight to Japan A.S.A.P . Will that be alright with you? It on she ten would be great! Thank you, Maya. As always, you are amazing. He smiles tenderly the lady he had come to love and miss dearly. Yet he was also dismayed when didn t blush as she had used to whenever he had praised her. Maybe she had got used to that. He sighs and takes his seat.

Don t worry, sir Chief, I ll take care of you. Kapit bisig! She says in finality and g oes to the back of the plane, leaving him to blush over her promise.

In Hong Kong What do you mean impossible?! Richard s voice rose higher at every disappointment he received. I have an important conference to attend to in Japan! Well it s not my fault you got in the wrong plane. The man in the desk argued with h im. Look, I would appreciate it if you wouldn t point out to me my mistakes every now a nd then. I realize my mistakes but surely you have a way for me to get to Japan today. He pleads once more. Maya by his side was already looking worried. I m sorry, Mr. Lim, but I have no more flights available for today. Maybe tomorrow if you d like. But the conference is today. He says in exasperation. Forget it, just get me the so onest flight to the Philippines. The man checks his computer. That would be two days from now at 2 in the afternoon. Would you like me to book this for you? Are there no earlier flights? He sounded hopeful. I m sorry. It s vacation season. All flights are booked. Richard sighs in defeat and agrees to this. Maya rubs her palm on Richard s back t o try and calm him down. I m sorry there was no other way, sir Chief. You did your best, Maya. We all did. s he claims his new ticket home. He gives the man a small smile of gratitude a

Okay lang yan, sir chief, at least diba nag kita tayo? And I m happy for that too. But I have no clothes with me, Maya. Plus, I have nowhe re to stay here. I d have to pay three times the regular amount just to get a dece nt hotel room because I have no early reservation. May solusyon ako diyan! she pipes in. Today po kasi ang last day ko sa work for the month. Every month po kasi may vacation leave kami. This week yung sa kin. Kaya nag decide akong magbakasyon dito sa Hong Kong. Get to the point Maya. He says, patience running thin.

He says in an instant which makes Maya blush. He rejoices silently over his little triumph. Eh kasi naman, sir chief, wala akong sing-sing, at tsaka alam nilang single ako e

h. Nire-reto nga ako doon sa pamangkin niya eh. Ayoko nga ng Chinese. What s wrong with being Chinese? He says defensively.

she snorts

Ay sorry, nakalimutan kong may kausap akong singkit. Maya laughs. Pero ang totoo po niyan sir chief, I had someone else in mind kaya di ko siya pinansin. Richard po nders on Maya s explanation but doesn t dwell as her voice interrupts him. O ano, game ba kayo sir chief? He agrees.

After a lengthy discussion with Maya s boss about their set-up, as well as a short sermon on decency, purity, and social norms, the two enter their hotel suite. I t was huge! Buti na lang andito kayo, sir chief. Matatakot ako kung ako lang mag-isa dito eh. She wanders aimlessly around the room. Richard s face warms at her words. It s almost lunch time, Maya. Where do you want to eat? The Jumbo Kingdom Floating restaurant is somewhere near here. Do you wanna go eat there? Hmm? Wag dun. Sa mura lang. Game ka ba sa street food sir chief?

They ate at various food stalls for different kinds of dimsum and authentic Chin ese food. Afterwards, Maya suggested they look for some change of clothes for Ri chard. Initially, he leads them to H&M. But Maya pulls him toward smaller boutiq ues. Alam kong mayaman ka, sir chief. Pero tandaan mo, nasa dayuhang lugar ka. Baka ma ubusan ka ng baon mo. She says as she goes through racks to pick out clothes for him. Eto subukan mo. She holds out to him a checkered long sleeved polo top. He ma kes a face of disgust but accepts the shirt anyway. Uy, joke lang. Di yan bagay sa yo. Eto ang bagay sa yo. She gives him a dark red short sleeved polo shirt as well as a violet long sleeved shirt. Sukatin mo yan habang maghahanap ako ng pangtulog mo. She announces. Oh don t worry about that. I can always sleep in the buff. rning red as she abruptly turns away. He smirks at Maya s face tu

(A/N: Ini-imagine niyo ba si Sir Chief in the buff!? O-M-GEE!!!)

After shopping, (and after Richard bought sleepwear at the persistence of Maya) the two head out to see the sights of Hong Kong. They toured in the Avenue of th e Stars, Wong Tai Shin Temple, Man Mo Temple, and this time they were on their w ay to The Peak. At the tram returning to the lower levels, Richard studies Maya while she is gaz ing out to enjoy the magnificent view of Hong Kong. It was already after dusk wh en they arrived there, so the skyline was beautifully seen from on top. Richard was in disbelief. First, he was hallucinating her, and now here she is, pulling him to be by her side. He admired the change that she had undergone. She is now more confident, more playful, and need he say it? More daring. Would he dare fin d out what else had changed?

Maya? Po, sir chief? Why don t you call me Richard? You re not my employee anymore, so no need for the for malities. Eh mas sanay na rin kasi ako sa sir Chief eh. Pero sige, try ko.

Good. She looks out again at the window. Maya? Po sir- Ri- Sir Chief? Are you having fun? Oo naman. Sobra sobra! Eh ikaw? I haven t had this much fun since Abby s birthday. He returns his smile. she giggles

Kahit sunod-sunod ka lang sa mga gusto kong puntahan? Maya, you ve helped me a lot since arriving here, I have no right to demand anythin g from you. Plus, it s your vacation anyway. He shrugs. Talaga ha? Mmm Sige, ang next place na pupuntahan natin ay magiging choice mo. Whe re do you wanna go next? she faces him squarely. How about Tsim Sha Tsui? Ulitin mo nga yun, Sir Chief? Ang alin? Kung saan tayo pupunta. Tsim Sha Tsui. She smiles more eagerly and he obliges. I thought ayaw mo sa Chinese! he teases her

She absorbs every word.

You re an exception from that rule. She shrugs and teases him back. Richard smirks a t this as he was trying so hard not to giggle with glee. Anyway, anong meron dun sa ? she beckons him to continue. Tsim Sha Tsui? Uh-uh. He says over-dramatically with a hint of seduction in his voice.

She says dreamily.

There s a Drive-In Movie place there. But we don t have to go in. We could stay out i n the benches near the dock. I ve always been curious of that place, but I ve never tried it since every time I come here, it s for work. Let s make your wish come true then. t of the tram to exit. She crooks her head to the side and pull him ou

The landing was filled with people. It took them some time to figure out which d irection to go, and when they did, Richard offered his hand to Maya. Hold my hand. I don t want you getting lost. Sus, takot ka lang kasi andito sakin ang passport mo at ang susi sa hotel. They la

ugh. Together, they walked hand-in-hand making their way in the maze of people toward s their destination. Maya was on Cloud Nine! Never in her wildest imaginations had she thought of goi ng on a date with Richard. And what a date this was! A rush of blood flooded her cheeks, and suddenly, despite the cool weather, she felt warm. And most of the heat came from her right hand being held by her Sir Chief . They were forced to be squished in the MTR since it was rush hour. Maya didn t mind this one bit. Ever si nce leaving the Lim household, this had been her wish. To be held securely by th e man who had made her place secure in the airline industry. He knew he was pushing his luck when he asked for her hand. But surprisingly, Ma ya was so open about it that it felt so natural for him to hold her firmly again st his body when the MTR was jam-packed. We re here. Richard almost felt sorry for letting go of her. But what was his reason this time for holding her when the place was now less crowded? Ang ganda dito, Sir Chief. He smiles at her and he realizes just how much she miss es this exuberant personality. He realizes the error of him letting her go so ea sily. Sir Chief, you know what, it may sound wrong, but I m glad you got on the wrong pla ne. She smiles shyly at the handsome gentleman in front of her. You know what, Maya, I m glad I did too. sit. The movie had already begun. He pulls her to his side and motions her to

Millions of thoughts were running through their heads. The lady was thinking of how they were going to sleep in one bed. Will he offer to take the sofa? Should I offer him to sleep on the bed too? The gentleman, on the other hand, was think ing of how to tell her. Will I say it now or should I wait later? Will she accep t my feelings or run away? The arm that Richard had settled at the backrest was unconsciously stroking Maya s shoulder. Maya relished at his touch radiating throughout every nerve of her bo dy. She in turn placed her hand at his knee and leaned in more loosely on her co mpanion s arm. Suddenly, his fingers stopped their ministrations. Sir Chief, is there anything wrong? t and his breathing labored. she faces him in distress. He has his eyes shu

Maya, the things you do to me. Dawning understanding, she lifts her hand from his knee. He places it back and looks at her with a gaze so intense, Maya was left s peechless. Leave it there. I love the feeling. He catches her eyes drift down to h is lips and instantly, he recognizes and acknowledges this. Richard s lips were surprisingly soft against his chiseled face. With a little tic kle from growing facial hair, Maya tilts up her face to receive some more of his urgent plea. After a few moments of passion, they gasp for air, both just looki ng at each other; both just savouring the moment. Richard couldn t quite make out Maya s reaction. She was looking at him with those b ig innocent eyes just like the first time they had met. She wasn t smiling nor was she crying. She was just watching him. Maya he began.

How do you want to continue this, Sir Chief? him. Are you sure? He asks with extreme caution. Hindi. Eh ikaw? No.

She finally spoke up, still watching

And yet they ended up kissing once more. No more words. Just feelings and undeni able attraction. Let s go. Richard breaks the kiss and pulls her to hail a cab. He hands to the taxi driver the business card of the hotel and gives his instruc tions in fluent Cantonese. To this hotel and quickly. No words were once more shared in the cab. Just their hands locked with the othe r s. They arrived at the hotel and thanked the driver, paying him generously for a tip. Swallowing his pride and embarrassment, he quickly whispers to the bell bo y to buy him some supplies from the nearest convenience store. And in a flash, h e had his supplies at hand. They both enter the room, still without speaking. Richard let go of her hand and proceeded at the middle of the room. It was dark, the clouds had hidden the moo n, and only the glow of the city beneath them provided them with the least hint of light. You can always say the darkness. no , Maya. You don t have to do this for my sake. His voice shatters

In a period of stillness and blindness, Richard flinches when he feels Maya s hand gently touch the center of his chest. I want this, you know I do. If not for me, then only for you. Maya s voice is like s ilk in the wind. Soothing and tempting all at the same time. Maya takes his othe r hand and places it to her heart. This beats only for you. It always had, and al ways will. Suddenly, he feels the walls of his cold heart melt, and all his restr aints broken. I love you, Maya! And he claims her lips urgently with control losing to the fight against his throbbing emotions. It was like a dam bursting. No more pretense. No more inhibitions. Only the truth. Only their love. And only this moment. Each took turns in introducing themselves to the other s form. Each satisfying the ir own curiosity. Each growing bolder at every moment. No fears, no reluctance. Clothes were long discarded, the couple now in their nest, and Richard had alrea dy prepared himself. Sir Chief? ng. Yes, Maya? Maya voice now just a mere whisper against the symphony of their breathi

His voice caressing her skin.

Please be gentle. It s my first time. He is touched by her admission. Overwhelmed wi th joy, he kisses her lips once more.

Richard!

She breathes out his name the moment he takes her.

Soft and hard. Stone and clouds. Male and female. Maya and Richard. Different yet complimenting each other.

Brightness wakes up the sleeping beauty. Confusion clouds her thoughts at first but upon movement, she smiles at the memory of last night. Good morning, beautiful. Nope. His extremely audacious nudity catches her attention! She quickly buries her head against the pillows. Oops, too late for that. He pulls her pillow. I told you I could always sleep in th e buff. He kisses her cheek and grins at her. I love you, Maya. She smiles. Say that again, will you? Tsim Sha Tsui? He teases. She nudges him and he leans down. Richard s early morning drawl grabs her attention.

Not that! Say you love me.

I love you, Maya. Very very much. Her smile widens impossibly. I love you too, Richard, sir Chief. Very very very much! He grins. Richard ask

So how would you like to spend the day today? Where do you want to go? s. How about here beside me in bed? You, Maya, are insatiable! Maya teases.

He kisses her once more.

After a few moments, he pulls away and massages her back with slow strokes. Now what? Richard asks and Maya smiles at this. Kape po, sir chief? Yes please. She asks drowsily. A slow smile starts to spread on his lips.
