The Farlow Farm CSA

2062 Ebenezer Church Road, Archdale, NC 27263 (336)434-3277

Our second season at The Farlow Farm is quickly approaching! Believe it or not we are counting down the weeks until we begin harvesting some of the first spring vegetables. We cannot wait to begin sharing our bounty with you all again. For those of you that were involved in our family farming adventures last year, welcome back and for those of you that are new, we hope you will enjoy sharing every harvest along the way in 2013.

Who we are?
The Farlow Farm consists of Russell & Jennifer, and farmers in training Marlin (age 6) & Ellarose (age 4). We also have lots of family support along the way.

What we do?
We transitioned our hobby farm into a local food system called Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). In a CSA, a mutual relationship is established

between consumer-producer. While you support us by making an investment and purchasing a share at the beginning of the season, we in turn provide you with a weekly basket of whats in season for a set number of weeks. By growing and sharing our bounty, our mission is to provide those of you who realize the importance and value of eating local and seasonal a basket of organically and sustainably grown foods. Through this growing relationship we are allowed to share the benefits, and risks, of farming. We both rely on each other for support and in turn, gain an invaluable connection with where our foods come from and how they are grown.

How does our CSA operate?

We plan to begin harvesting and sharing baskets by mid-April. The beauty of farming is that we dont tell the produce when to bear fruit, we let nature take on that responsibility. The first seasons share will run for 16 weeks, until approximately mid-August. Several days before pickup day, you will receive an email reminder and newsletter full of farm updates and recipes for that weeks goodies. You will also have two pickup options: Monday evenings on the farm from 4:30 6:30 or Thursdays mornings at New Garden Nursery from 9:30-11:30.

How can you join?

We will be accepting a limited number of shareholders through March 22 for the Spring/Summer season. To secure your share, you will need to fill out and mail the application along with your payment. You will be notified immediately of your acceptance. There will be an additional 10-week fall share beginning midAugust through November. Look for more details in May.

What vegetables and fruits can you anticipate?
