TASK 1:

YAS MARINA HOTEL PANELIZATION

Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel is located within the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi. It is the first new hotel in the world to be built over an F1 race circuit.

THE ORIGINAL MESH:

The panelization was performed using the Rhinoceros 4.0 3D modeling software and the Evolute Tools Lite plugin.

An original 3D mesh was available as a model(target) for optimizing the coarse mesh.

THE COARSE MESH BEFORE OPTIMIZATION:

The coarse mesh was created from scratch in order to attain the maximum flexibility during the modeling process.

Starting with a simple quad face and applying several sudivisions steps and vertical extrusions a satisfactory result is obtained.

THE OPTIMIZED MESH:

After setting the optimization parameters and performing a couple of iterative optimization steps, a quick(not-perfect) mesh is obtained. Further manipulation of this mesh may lead to results that are really close to the reference surface.
