2012 Ranking: 54th Largest Export Market for U.S. Goods (2011: 57th)
The United States and Kuwait signed a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement in 2004. In 2012, U.S. exports to Kuwait fell slightly by 1.6 percent to $2.68 billion, while U.S. imports from Kuwait grew by 66.75 percent from the previous year to $13.02 billion. Oil & Gas constituted the largest Kuwaiti export sector, at $12.64 billion, with Chemicals (at $218.11 million) and Petroleum & Coal Products (at $91.19 million) rounding out the top three sectors.
