2012 Ranking: 94th Largest Export Market for U.S. Goods (2011: 118th)
Since the easing of U.S. sanctions in 2004, U.S. exports to Libya jumped from $39 million to $665 million in 2010, an increase of 1,605 percent. After a sharp decline in 2011, 2012 data indicate a 78.2 percent increase in U.S. goods exports in 2012, reaching $547.6 million. Libyan exports in 2012 grew by 286.51 percent to $2.49 billion, with Oil & Gas (at $2.25 billion) and Petroleum & Coal Products (at $240.59 million) constituting most of these exports.
