Notes On Stage
Set Design: An old style science lab Bench made of metal with bloody yellowish cloth(a symbol of a decomposing body) covered over a figure (corpse) Body parts spilled and scattered around carelessly (not too much) One lamp in the center. Light flickering With smoke (dry ice) Metal doorway(entrance) A withered rose near the corpse Props: Pistol for Clerval Stethoscope for Frankenstein Box Costumes: An old brown heavy coat for Frankenstein A new and maroon over coat for Clerval Old torn rags blue long sleeved and white Capri pants for the Monster Lighting/ Sound/ Special Effects: Blue for half the scene and red lighting for the other half Sound of the machine rumbling and a grandfather clock ticking loudly There is a low toned sinister music playing in the background And a spotlight on the corpse I have chosen this set because I think it all ready tells most of the story because it looks like the olden times and the Doctor is creating something. The old bench and metal really makes the set look more real and frightening. I want the lighting to be these two colors because I think the red lighting looks evil and the blue lighting looks cold.

Characters: Monster- Confused, new to the world Clerval- Realistic, worried and impressed by Frankenstein's achievements Frankenstein- Imaginative, idealistic and strange

Script The Limits of Creation

The lab is empty; there is a sound of a machine rumbling and the grandfather clock ticking loudly. A sinister music plays in the background. FRANKENSTEIN and CLERVAL emerge from the metal door. They shake off the raindrops off from their coats. The corpse lies on the metal bench covered by a white yellowish, bloody cloth. The lamp flickers and blazes at the same time. CLERVAL: Frankenstein??!! What kind of experiments do you do up here? It's awfully cold [Says while shivering and curious of his friend's work] FRANKENSTEIN: [Brings over a machine near where the corpse is lying] you will find out soon [with wonder] CLERVAL: Your experiments are so fascinating [says with wonder] no wonder why the students always come to you for help. FRANKENSTEIN: Hah [laughs] I am just a normal scientist. CLERVAL: Where do you propose I put this box of yours, which by the way I dont even know what is in it [Annoyed]. FRANKENSTEIN: Ummm [Looks around] it's my paper work. CLERVAL: Oh well then, let me just open the window. FRANKENSTEIN: NO! [ loudly] I need it cold in her; I am currently having a fever.

CLERVAL: [looks over to the covered figure, without Frankenstein knowing he walks towards the bench and flips the cloth] AHH!? FRANKENSTEIN! Why do you have a sown corpse in your lab? FRANKENSTEIN: For my next experiment, one that you are going to witness tonight. [THE LIGHTS DIM, change to the color red] CLERVAL: You dont know what you are doing, this creature will be a monster, uncontrollable and unstoppable. FRANKENSTEIN: No (trying to convince himself from believing Clerval.) This creature will be an angel, loved by all and every one. ( in a dreamy voice ) CLERVAL: All right then [says between a sigh] I trust you know what you are doing. FRANKENSTEIN: Thanks man, I appreciate that. [LIGHTS FLASH A CROSS THE STAGE AS FRANKENSTIEN USES THE LIGHTNING. THE MONSTER AWAKENS.] MONSTER: AHHHAHHHHH [screams in agony] FRANKENSTEIN: [takes a look and is terrified by the Monsters appearance] you are not what I imagined you to be. CLERVAL: That creature.. MONSTER: [monster sits up and yawns as if he had just woken up from a deep sleep, eyes the Doctor in confusion] FRANKENSTEIN: [picks up a gun his hand shaking] CLERVAL: [lowers Frankenstein's hand] you created him and now you are responsible. Give him a chance Frankenstein, he can't even speak. FRANKENSTEIN: Alright [lowers and finally puts down his gun]

MONSTER: [smiles and nods his head happily] aaaahhhhhh ahhh [happily] THE END
