Going Abroad in Summer or Fall for the IP? Be sure to complete your International Experience Approval Form before the end of Phase I Registration (April 26)! You must meet with your major's IP faculty representative first and then potentially Modern Languages and/or the International Internships advisors, depending your individual plan. The form should then be dropped off at the OIE main desk (211 Savant) for the IP Assistant Directors signature. You must have your study and work abroad plans approved via this form in order to register for the IP Audit Course and in order for your program(s) to count for the IP.

IP Audit Courses If you are studying abroad or doing an international internship for the IP, you should be registered in one of the following courses: IPFS 3012 (for exchanges), IPSA 3012 (for faculty-led programs like LBATs, Oxford, GTL, etc.), IPIN 3011 (for international internships), or IPCO 3011 (for international co-op terms). This course is not credit-bearing and it does not carry tuition. It simply marks the program as part of your IP requirements. You should only register for the appropriate course after having submitted your completed International Experience Approval Form. You will then be sent further instructions as to which course to register for.

IP Globally Focused Coursework: Remember that all IP students need to take one Global Economics course, one International Relations course, and one course about the country/region where your international experience(s) take place. The full list of approved courses can be found in the Catalog. With proper planning and communication with your academic and IP advisors, your IP coursework can also satisfy your major requirements. (Be sure to tell your Academic Advisor that you are in the IP!) Permits for Global Economics This Fall there will be special sections of ECON 2101 (Economics and Policy) and ECON 4350 (International Economics) dedicated for IP students. They will require a permit which you can apply for using the code DUPUIT. Please put this code into the status reason block when you apply so that you can secure a spot in the course. Permits for INTA courses INTA policy is to restrict their major core classes until the first day of classes to INTA majors only. IP students can request permits for closed classes at the start of Phase II; permits will be granted the restricted classes if space is available. No exceptions are made to this policy. INTA core courses that are most popular among IP students are: INTA 1110 (IR requirement) INTA 2040 (IR requirement) INTA 3301 (Global economics requirement)

More often than not there will be space available for INTA 1110 and INTA 2040. However, INTA 3301 usually fills up during Phase I. You are encouraged to look for any number of INTA electives which are NOT restricted and which meet IP requirements. If you have questions about INTA courses, please contact Stephanie Jackson in INTA.
