CBUSH Element Guide for Engineers

The CBUSH spring element in Nastran accounts for any offset between grid points, unlike regular spring elements. This allows non-coincident grid points to be used with CBUSH elements. Femap provides guidance on creating CBUSH elements and their formulation. CBUSH elements require orientation vectors and constraints on their rotational degrees of freedom when attached to solid elements with fewer degrees of freedom. Examples are provided of using CBUSH elements with solid and plate elements.
