MATERIAL : TEXT BOOK OBJECTIVES : 1. Students are able to indentify the meanings of the words in the text they read 2. Students are able to identify the characteristics of the recount text 3. Students are able to complete recount paragraph

I. INITIAL ACTIVITY Teacher gives a greeting Teacher : Good morning students How are you today ? Students : Good morning, sir Im fine, thank you, and you ? Teacher : Im fine too, thank you. Teacher gives a brainstorming and leading question ( answer question ) to the students about the topic Teacher : So class, do you know what is the meaning of Unforgettable Moment In Indonesia ? And did you ever get an unforgettable moment in your life ? Student 1 : Its Kejadian yang tak terlupakan Yes, I did, sir Teacher : What moment did you ever get? sad moment or happy moment . Student 1 Teacher Student 2 : Thanks God, Its a happy moment, sir : God, And what about you ? ( Asking the other student ) : Yes, I did the sad ones, sir.

: Its OK, everybody has a sad moments, right? Well, today we are going to discuss about the unforgettable moment

II. MAIN ACTIVITY The teacher gives one of the stories to the students, then the teacher asks the students to read the story Teacher : Ok students, now I give you the story about the unforgettable moment in monologue thats said by Garry to Shanny. Now, you read this story ?

This is the story I had on Sunday. Do you know what was happened on Sunday? On that day, I went to do some shopping downtown. Since I love burger, I went to McDonald for lunch. I ate my lunch. After that, I asked the waiter for the bill. I took out my wallet but I didnt have money left in my wallet!

Well, at first I called my parents, but they were out. After that I tried to call my friend, Rony, but his mobile phone was off. So I finally phoned Mr. Deddy, my teacher. He was very nice and brought me money. : Ok, I think you have finished, I think Its very embrassing unforgettable moment, dont you? Now, let me ask you. According to you, what is the categories of this text? Narrative, Recount, Descriptive or Procedure ?

Characteristics of Recount text


A recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity Example of a recount 1. Biographies and autobiographies. 2. Newspaper or television news. 3. Letter and postcard. 4. Textbooks. 5. Conversation with friend.

Structure 1. Orientation: Introducing the participants, place and time 2. Events: Describing series of event that happened in the past 3. Reorientation: It is optional. Stating personal comment of the writer to the story

Language feature of recount

1. Introducing personal participat = I, my group, etc. 2. Using chronological connection = then, first, etc. 3. Using linking verb = was, were, saw, heard, etc. 4. Using action verb = look, go, change, etc. Using Simple Past

The students are asked to find the recount text they want from the internet or any other source Teacher : Ok, now I give you a homework, So please find your story in recount text, you can make it by your own story or find it on the internet and then analize the generic structure of it. Students Teacher : Ok, sir. : So, thats all for today, dont forget to do your homework and see you later
