PROFILE I am a junior Advertising & Public Relations major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I grew up in Los Angeles, Calif., before moving to Minneapolis, Minn. during my sophomore year of high school. Currently, I reside in Lincoln, Nebraska, just five blocks from the State Capital building. EXPERIENCE Sports Editor, The DailyER Nebraskan: Lincoln, Ne. September 2012 Present Create content for the Sports page of the Dailyer, which normally covers Husker athletics, as well as occasionally touching on the professional leagues. Student Brand Manager, Dell Computers: Lincoln, Neb. May 2012 December 2012 Representing Dell at UNL was an eye opening experience. It was my first job working in the field to represent a brand. I spent the entire summer working new student orientation events, and putting posters up around campus. My job also entailed adding thousands of new Twitter followers to two different accounts, as well as writing new tweets/Facebook posts for the Nebraska account. Legislative Page, Nebraska State Legislature: Lincoln, Neb. January 2012 December 2012 While working for the Unicameral, I spent time sitting in on the Natural Resource Committee, as well as the Transportation and Mass Communication Committee. During that time span, I heard countless testimonies and saw numerous bills make their way to the floor of the legislature. The entire experience gave me infinitely more knowledge about State Government, and all the intricacies that are involved when laws are made. Marketing Intern, Green Bein Productions: Lincoln, Neb. - May 2011 October 2011 I interned at Green Bein for about six months, within which I spent significant time learning and creating different marketing tactics. My jobs ranged from editing videos with Final Cut Pro, to running the companys three different social media accounts. Working in such a small office, with a young Internet start-up taught me a lot about the inner-workings of owning a small business in America. Assistant Editor, The DailyER Nebraskan: Lincoln, Neb. 2009 - 2011 As one of the editors of this student-run publication, I was responsible for following through on writers assignments as well as creating new revenue streams and collaborating with the University of NebraskaLincolns Publications Board. I started and managed the DailyER Nebraskan Facebook page, which quickly gained around 1,300 followers.
