Our Objective

Fundraising
Barrel Races
Every semester the club host a Fall and Spring Barrel Race. At the Barrel Race there is an Exhibition and an Open show, also, if time allows, Pole Bending at the end of the open show.

Community Service
Tack Swaps
Every Spring Semester, the club host a Tack Swap down at the Arena for Community and Campus to be involved in. This is an opportunity for students to interact with the community by exchanging and selling tack. All of the proceeds the club raises is given to local charities, such as Relay for Life.

Officers
An ABAC Equestrian officer is responsible for representing the ABAC Equestrian club and must remember to strive to behave in a professional manner. Once you become an officer you are associated with representing the Club and are expected to behave in any public functions or activities on or off campus.

The Objective of the ABAC Equestrian Club is to promote all facets of the Equine Industry to its members, campus, and community. We stive for excellence in Equine Education as we also act as a fun part of ABACs campus inspring other of horses and our interactions with them.

Open Shows
Our Open Shows are new to the club but a proud fundraiser we are excited to promote more and more each year. This fundraiser will allow students and the community to become more familiar to the horse show world, past barrel racing and roping. Open shows usually consist of events like Western Plesure, Halter Classes, and etc.

Barn Clean Up Day


The Equestrian club host a Barn Clean Up Day every month that usaully involves help from other clubs and organizations. The clean up includes, trash pick up, arena tending, concession stand clean up, closet organization, and landscaping.

In the Spring of 2013, the club voted to host a Roping Clinic at the arena to show the campus and community how to rope like you would in a rodeo. We had experienced ropers come to stationa roping dummy and teach, including PRCA member, Joshua Moore, and SSBR member, B.J Carter. We also had a Goat Roping just for some extra fun at the clinic.

Guest Speakers

The Educational Chair invites various Guest Spreakers in the horse industry to come to the club meetings every month to inform the club about a particular branch of the industry.

Every semester we have a Fun Night at the arena. Fun Nights are activities the club memvers can participate in to blow off some steam and just have some fun before finals or mid-terms. Some of these Activities include, Cowgirl Race, Ride-a-buck, Phonebook Race, Buddy Pickup, Egg Toss, and etc. The club is always sure to have activities for on and off horseback.

We also participate in the Horticultures annual Haybale contest. This is a fun way to interact with other clubs on campus and club members.
