Results: Since having implemented the MLE in my 4th hour class, my cooperating teacher and I have seen a drastic change in the students behaviors. As you can see in the class tracking chart, within the 30 days, there were only 6 days where one or more students were unable to follow the correct protocol. However, those 6 days were not big misbehaviors, most of the time it was just a cell-phone that was visible or a student not in their correct seat. Since the goal was for the class to follow the rules for 5 consecutive days in order to obtain the surprise, they were able to get their reward twice. As you can see from the data, within the first ten days, there was only one day where a student was not following the correct protocol. They were however able to get a reward, receiving home-made brownies and donuts. All of the students seemed very excited and happy with the reward. It was clear to me that the students were motivated with the idea of getting a treat in class, which I noticed quickly when the students walked into class and promptly put their phones and headphones away. I also made sure to collect data in the same podium every day as the students walked into class. This made the students aware that we as teachers are keeping track of the students individually as well as the entire class. The students also received their second surprise in the end of March. They had cookies and chocolates as their reward. During the month of may, although the class came very close to getting their third reward a few ti es they are still wor ing on getting their third reward. ro the data collected it is clear that a definite progress has been ade. By looking at the individual tracking chart, this made every student in the class accountable for their own behaviors. By rewarding individual behaviors, it rewarded the students who were following the correct protocol. As you can see from the results, there were some students whose attendance is very scarce, while others come on a daily basis. Most of the time it is only one student who is not making the right choice during the start of class that affects the overall class tracking chart. However, to not penalize the entire

class due to a student's misbehavior, by having an individualized tracking chart gives equal opportunity to all the students. Discussion: Overall, I believe that the MLE was a success. It was great to have two amazing teachers in the classroom that helped reiterate rules for the MLE. I felt a lot of support from both teachers and I believe that is one of the other reasons why the MLE was able to be so successful. For example, when a student asked to use the bathroom, one of the teachers asked for a pass. When the student did not have one, she responded by saying that they had to wait x-days to get one. The student responded very well and it reinforces them to follow the rules. I also believe that by having two separate charts for the entire class and individual students was also a great idea that was suggested from my cooperating teacher. This way the students who are following the directions do not get penalized for the classes misbehavior. In the future, I will definitely do this MLE again. in order for it to be effective I believe it has to have a few components. 1) Constant reminder to the students about the expectations. 2) Conducting the data collecting in the same location at the same time for consistency. 3) Having other educators in the classroom on the same boat, also reinforcing expectations. 4) Rewarding positive behavior.
