Technology Scavenger Hunt

1. What technology tools/ devices are available for teachers to use in your school?
Language art classes have access to software to help improve reading scores. IPads are availble
to students for the purpose of utilizing this software and for testing. The library also has
Chromebooks which are also used to help improve reading or for testing. The teacher access to
these devices is limited to mainly language art teachers unless they are testing.
2. What technology tools/ devices are available for students to use in your school?
The students have the same access to devices listed above. Although, if they have computers as
an elective, they have more access to the laptops.

3. Does your school allow for students to bring their own technology devices to the
school to use for their learning?
No, the school does not allow for students to bring their own devices. The school does not even
allow for students to have their cellphones out on campus.

4. What digital resources does your school provide to teachers and students access to?
Teachers have access to Study Island. It is a program that helps create quizzes, tests, or worksheet. As a
math teacher, my mentor teacher has access to Glenco in order to help make tests.

5. Does your school have funding to purchase technology tools and/or digital resources?
The school has some funding for the purchase of technology, but not enough to equip the entire school.

6. Does your school have a technology committee?


The school does not haave a technology committee.
7. Does your school have technology resources available on their website?
The school does not list any resources on their website.

8. Does your school’s district website have technology resources/support available on


their website?
The school district website lists contact information for the IT department, but does not specify
much for individual schools.

9. What types of technology support are provided to teachers at your school/district to


support promote teacher’s integration of technology?
Reading and Language arts teachers have more professional development
10. Are there any inhibitors to teachers’ successful integration of technology within your
school/district?
The school lacks devices and easier access to the available technology. For example, the math
department wouldn’t even get to use the iPads or Chromebooks unless students are testing.
The school culture itself does not promote technology integration. It’s difficult to promote
technology integration when there simply are not enough devices.
