Geographical Background CALABARZON is designated as Region IV-A. The region is composed of five (5) provinces, namely: CAvite, LAguna, BAtangas, Rizal, and QueZON. Hogs and chicken were the major commodities with a combined share of 44 percent of the region's total agricultural output. For both commodities, CALABARZON was 2nd in rank. For chicken egg production, it was ranked 1st.
