Although the growth of China's EDS market slowed a little bit in 2008 due to a combination of factors, the market still
achieved a growth rate of 38.2%. Generally speaking, China's EDS market can be summed up within the following four
points:

1. The mix of products changed greatly, while IP storage stood alone

Sales of DAS product shrank significantly in 2008 while those of NAS and SAN products achieved a pretty rapid increase.
On the other hand, the emerging IP SAN has notably become dominating in the market with its low cost and easy
application.

2. Structure of the industry underwent slight adjustment, and the telecoms sector became the major market for
EDS applications

Telecoms and financial sectors and governments continued their strong demand for storage products in 2008. The
telecoms sector surpassed the financial sector in demand for storage because telecoms operators initiated the
construction of 3G network, and had become the major force driving forward the storage market. Compared with the
telecoms markets’ rapid growth of 41.4% year-on-year, the growth in demand of the financial market 36% and government
32.3%, were relatively steady.

3. Competition became fiercer

The rapid growth of the storage market had attracted more entrants, while the existing market participants slashed their
prices trying to keep their competitive advantages. As a result, the competition in the market had become increasingly
fierce.

4. Revenue increased from consulting and other services

Traditional marketing that focused on products is now replaced by one that focuses on consulting and solutions. Although
the software market has been growing fast, the storage software market is much smaller than the hardware storage
market, accounting for only 11.6% of the total. On the other hand, the emerging storage models, including online storage
and cloud storage, have started attracting attention from the market.
