Childhood Resilience - Sociologists have divided the child population into three groups based on the populations views of education, likelihood of gang violence involvement, and overall goals and aspirations based on family life.

5 percent of the child population is resilient. This means that no matter what difficulties they face, these children will go to school, continue to college and find a career.

85 percent of the child population are at risk. This means these kids have not decided where their life will go. Troy Camp targets this population of students, encouraging them to pursue higher education and supplying them with the role-models and tools they need.

10 percent of the child population is already involved or has been tapped for future gang participation.
