The benchmark index of the Indian capital market S&P CNX Nifty (Nifty 50) closed at 5482.00 points on July 29, 2011 representing a
decrease of 165.40 points (-2.93 %), as compared to the closing value of 5647.40 points on June 30, 2011. During the month of July
2011, S&P CNX Nifty touched a high of 5740.40 points on July 08, 2011. The free float market capitalization of S&P CNX Nifty
decreased from Rs. 1692503.94 crores on June 30, 2011 to Rs. 1643348.15 crores on July 29, 2011, i.e. a deccrease of Rs.49155.79
crores (-2.90 %).
