Agreed Content The content of my production involves a male teenager wearing his new shoes. The music video will start with him waking up in the morning in a glum mood. As hes getting dressed he decides to wear his new shoes for the first time. This instantly picks up his day and brightens up the atmosphere of the video. During the video there will be frequent shots of the actor singing the song and playing a guitar.

Final Proposal / Detailed Outline of Production Ive chosen to create a music video as this is the area where my skills have developed and improved the most over the last two years. Ive had experience creating a music video and have learnt lots of things whilst making it. Overall, the last music video I made was a success; this gives the knowledge and confidence to do well during this production. My music video will start in black and white whilst the main protagonist is waking up. His day starts in a miserable and glum way until hes getting dressed. He decides that it will be a good day to wear his brand new shoes. He ventures under his bed and grabs a shoe box. The next scene will be of him outside wearing his shoes and walking along the street. As the camera focuses on his shoes the camera cross dissolves from the black and white effect to colour. From then on, the camera will focus on the actor singing and playing the guitar whilst walking down the street. The next day, the camera pans across him with his shoes being worn in bed. He wakes up in a much more jolly fashion. Then the video will include lots more shots of him singing with his guitar again. This continues until just before the end of the video, where he puts his shoes back in the box, ready for another glum day. The message of the video is that if you feel good within yourself, you are able to conquer and trouble you may face throughout the day. This contrasts with the original song meaning, relating to Paolo Nutinis dark and terrifying heroin addiction.

Production Management Managing the pre-production roles I took on all the pre-production roles; It was made very clear and in an organised fashion. All the pre-production really helped in during the production stages, especially the storyboard. It was drawn out clearly with detailed notes as to what the camera angle and movement was necessary for each scene.

Managing the production phase All the members of the cast and crew met at the location in Shiplake for the first day of filming. We had a 15 minute meeting where we discussed the plan for the day. All the filming went swiftly without needing too many takes. Oliver (the actor) worked very professionally for an amateur actor, which made filming much less stressful. Fortunately the weather remained warm but not sunny. In the initial idea I wanted the sun to come to be out for all the outdoor shots. However, I will be able to create this effect by changing the contrast of the clip during the editing stages of the production.

Post production phase Because of a really successful production stage, the process of editing the clips was made a lot easier. However, before I could begin editing I needed to import the actual song. This was the only problem that I came across during the editing process as the song wasnt compatible for Adobe Premiere Pro. This meant that a lot of time was lost as I had to record the audio from the song on to an external source to create a new MP3 file. After all the audio was sorted I was then able to begin editing the footage. The hardest part of making the video was getting the lip syncing in time. This was the most time consuming part of the process, the colour contrast for the outdoor scenes only took a short while after the clips had all been placed.

Detail How You Solved Problems For the first shoot, the camera ran out of battery which meant we had to put filming on hold whilst the camera charged. Due to this we managed to miss some of the good weather outside. However, time wasnt completely wasted as we filmed some of the interior shots whilst the camera charged. To resolve this I decided to charge all the cameras over night before the next shoot.

Prioritising (How and what did you prioritise during your producing) When filming, we prioritised the outdoor shots. This was so that we could get the best natural lighting for the video. I also wanted to make sure I filmed all the scenes from the bedroom at the same time. This was because the lighting from the window may have changed over time giving the video an unnatural and unprofessional look.

Modifications (Why did you modify your work and what was changed during postproduction) The only significant modification I made to the production during the editing stages was the timing of the black and white effect turning to colour. The effect was originally going to happen when the shoe box was opened. However, it didnt fit in to the flow of the video and looked a lot more natural when he began to walk in the shoes.
