• This beanie is worked from the bottom up. The pattern starts with the ribbing
around the bottom
• This is a medium adult size beanie and is meant to be slouchy. If you don’t
want it slouchy take out 2 or 3 rounds.

BEGINNER BOTTOM UP BEANIE CROCHET PATTERN


ch 9
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook and scross (8)
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in first stitch, sc blo in next 6 stitches, sc in last (8)
Repeat row 2 to Row 78 (8)
The ribbing should be approx. 21” long. Add or take out rows as need-
ed.
Bring both ends of the ribbing together. Single crochet both ends to-
gether. Do not fasten off.
You are now working in rounds around the ribbed brim of the beanie
Round 1: ch 1, sc evenly around working 1 sc in the end of each row,
join to first sc with sl st (78)
Round 2: ch 2, dc in each stitch around, join to first dc with sl st (78)
Round 3: ch 2, dc blo in each stitch around, join to first dc with sl st (78)
Repeat round 3 to Round 12 (78)
Round 13: ch 2, *dc blo, dc2tog blo* repeat from * to * around, join to
first dc with sl st (52)
Round 14: ch 2, *dc blo, dc2tog blo* repeat from * to * around, ending
with 1 dc, join to first dc with sl st (35)
Fasten off. Leave a long end for sewing.
Using your yarn needle, weave the long end in and out of the top
loops of the last round.
Pull the end tight to cinch it closed. Sew the top closed.
Weave in all the ends.
