What to make with the Puff Trails Stitch


The puff trails stitch is an elegant yet simple
textured crochet stitch.
It looks great for blankets but also as an edge on a
garment, scarf or beanie. It’s completely reversible.

Before you Start


Materials
 5 mm / US H – 8 hook.
 Worsted weight yarn.
 Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.

Size
The pattern is written for a 15 cm by 15 cm / 6” by 6” square.
You can easily adapt the size to your desired project size. The pattern needs a multiple
of 7 + 5 number of stitches; your starting chain will be a multiple of 7 + 6 for an extra
turning chain.

Gauge
The gauge for this pattern is 15 sts by 17 rows in stitch pattern for a 10 cm by 10 cm
square (4” by 4”).

Abbreviations
This pattern uses US notations.
 st = stitch
 ch = chain
 sc = single crochet
 skip = miss

Notes
Work instructions between [] the indicated number of times or until the end of the row.
The final number of stitches is indicated at the end of the row / round between < >.
The turning ch 1 doesn’t count as a stitch throughout the pattern except if mentioned
otherwise.
The pattern is written in crochet shorthand. For example:
 "sc 1" means to single crochet in the next stitch,

The Actual Stitch Pattern


With your 5mm / US H- 8 hook ch 26 + 1,
Row 1: In the 2nd ch from the hook sc, sc across, turn. < 26 st>
Row 2: Ch 1, sc 5, [puff stitch, ch 1, skip 1, sc 5] three times, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc 5, [puff st in the ch-1 space, ch 1, skip 1, sc 5] three times, turn.

Repeat Row 3 you reach 15 cm / 6”. Finish with an extra Row 1.


Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Blocking
You’re done with the crocheting part. Make sure to weave in all the ends.

What to make with the Ridges


Stitch
The ridges stitch is an elegant yet simple
textured crochet stitch forming horizontal lines.
It looks great for blankets but also as an edge
on a garment, scarf or beanie. It’s not
reversible, only one side has the textured ridges
but both sides are pretty.
It’s as pretty in one color as in alternating
colors.

Before you Start


Materials
 5 mm / US H – 8 hook.
 Worsted weight yarn.
 Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.

Size
The pattern is written for a 15 cm by 15 cm / 6” by 6” square.
You can easily adapt the size to your desired project size. The pattern doesn’t needs a
stitch multiple.

Row 1: In the 2nd ch from the hook sc, sc across, turn. < 25 st>
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc through the 3rd loop only across, turn.


Switch color
Repeat Row 2 and 3 you reach 15 cm / 6”.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
