Midnight walk

Yarn: Scheepjes Whirl, nr 767 - 1 skein and Scheepjes Whirlette, 866 - 1 skein.
Hook: 3,5mm

Information

• Turn the work after every row.


• The shawl measures more than 190cm furthest edge and 90cm from the top edge
down to the tip
• The shawl is made with 23 repetitions of the pattern and during the last repeat the
Whirl ended and I started using the Whirlette. I have also used it for the fringes.
• To the step-by-step pictures in the pattern I have used the yarn Nova by Järbogarn, in
the color 48018 and 48019.

ch sp – chain space
sk 2st – skip two stitches

Pattern

1: ch5, 1sl st in the first stitch to form a circle. ch3, 4dc around the circle, ch3, 5dc around
the circle.

2: ch2, skip the first stitch, 4fphdc, 2hdc around the ch sp, ch2, 2hdc around the same ch sp,
4fphdc, 1hdc in the last stitch of the three who started last row.

3: ch1, 1sc in the first stitch, (ch4, sk 2st, 1sc in the next stitch) x2. ch4, 1sc around the ch sp,
ch4, (1sc in the next stitch, ch4, sk 2st) x2. 1sc in the next stitch.
(On this row you never crochet in the two chain stitch who started last row.)

4: ch4, 2sc around the ch sp, (ch2, 2sc around the next ch sp) x2. ch3, 2sc around the next ch
sp. (ch2, 2sc around the next ch sp) x2. Ch2, 1hdc in the last single crochet on the row.

5: ch3, 2dc in the first stitch, 2dc around the next ch sp, (2dc, 1dc around the next ch sp)
xRepeat even the last ch sp before the tip. 2dc, 2dc+ch3+2dc around the next ch sp – the tip.
2dc, (1dc around the next ch st, 2dc) xRepeat even the second last ch sp on the row. 2dc
around the last ch sp, 2dc in the third of the four chains who starts the last row.

6: ch2, 1fphdc around the first stitch. 1fphdc around every stitch until the tip.
2hdc+ch2+2hdc around the ch sp – the tip. 1fphdc around every stitch to the end of the row.
End with 1hdc around the three chain that started the last row followed by 1hdc in the
second of the three chain.

7: ch1, 1sc in the first stitch. (ch4, sk 2st, 1sc in the next stitch) xRepeat until two stitch
before the tip. ch4, 1sc around the ch sp – the tip, ch4, sk 1st, 1sc in the next stitch. (ch4, sk
2st, 1sc in the next stitch) xRepeat to the end of the row, make the last stitch in the second
of the two chain who started last row.

8: ch4, (2sc around the next ch sp, ch2) xRepeat until one ch sp before the tip. 2sc around
the next ch sp, ch3 – over the tip. (2sc around the next ch sp, ch2) xRepeat to the end of the
row. End with 1hsc in the single crochet who started the last row.

Repeat row 5-8 until the shawl achieves the desired size.

Fringes

Cut 25cm long yarn threads. Attach them, three together, around the chain space on the last
row. Se the pictures below for a detailed description.
