You need 2 pins, a 45 mm disk and a 40 mm disk, as well as pliers for such jointing.

Split and twist one pin as shown in the picture.

Stuff the head firmly. Insert a disk with a cotter pin in the hole left.

6

Continue to work following the pattern.

50 rnd: (SC, DEC) × 6 times (12);

51 rnd: 6 DEC (6);

Cut the yarn, fasten off and weave in ends.

Make sculpting for eyes.

Now make the sculpting, take a long needle and a strong thread. Insert the needle near
the cotter pin joint, as there is a large disk in the head, you have to insert / pull out the
7
Crochet Baby Pattern

needle near the edge of the disk, and then insert the needle in the same place and come
out near the pin. If you do not use cotter pin joints, everything is much simpler - insert /
pull out the needle immediately at the base of the head, and later this point will be
hidden by the neck.

Send your needle to the eye between rounds 33 and 34, and then enter at the other side
of the eye, between the same rounds. Hide the sculpting thread between the eye and the
eye post and pull to sculpt the eye. Do the sculpting for the second eye alike. Repeat the
instructions to secure.

Embroider whites under eyes in white. Insert-pull out the needle in the area of last
rounds of the head and tie a knot, do not tighten too hard, so that white outline remained
visible under the eye.

Embroider the nose in the middle between the eyes using the same yarn you crocheted
the head between rounds 34 and 35 with the width of 4 SC. Make four- five stitches to
embroider the nose.

Embroider mouth between rounds 38 and 39 with the width of 2 SC. Come out in the
area of last rounds of the head and tie a knot.

Arms.

Firstly, crochet a thumb.

1 rnd: work 4 sc into amigurumi ring;

2 rnd: 4 SC;

Cut the thread and put the thumb aside, now crochet an arm.

1 rnd: work 6 SC into amigurumi ring;

2 rnd: 6 INC (12);

3 rnd: (SC, INC) × 6 times (18);

4 rnd: (5 SC, INC) × 3 times (21);

5-7 rnd: 18 SC;

In round 8 join the thumb. Take the thumb and without cutting the arm yarn or
making any runs, continue working stitches across the thumb.

There is a video on this step, I recommend watching it - https://youtu.be/7eUntalvMJc

8 rnd: 3 SC across the thumb, skip 1 stitch, come back to the arm, skip 1 stitch and
continue crocheting across the arm - 20 SC (23);

19

Sew the remaining hole between the finger and palm.

Continue crocheting across the arm with the thumb.

9 rnd: 23 SC;

10 rnd: 2 DEC, 19 SC (21);

11 rnd: (DEC, 5 SC) × 3 times (18);

25 rnd: (5 SC, DEC) × 3 times (18);

26 rnd: (SC, DEC) × 6 times (12);

27 rnd: (SC, INC) × 6 times (18);

28 rnd: (5 SC, INC) × 3 times (21);

37 rnd: (5 SC, DEC) × 3 times (18);

38 rnd: (SC, DEC) × 6 times (12);

39 rnd: (SC, DEC) × 4 times (8);

Fold the arms in half so that the thumb was on the fold. Crochet the number of stitches
needed to reach the fold – 3 stitch in my case.

21
Crochet Baby Pattern
by Irina Kalach
43 rnd: crochet to the fold – in my case 3 SC, then crochet 2 parallel stitches together,
i.e. the 1st one and the 8th one together, the 2nd one and the 7th one together, and so on to
the end, we get 4 SC in total;

The arm is ready. Make another identical one.

Legs.

Foot.

1 rnd: work 6 SC into amigurumi ring, SL ST, 6 CH, INC, 5 SC across the chain, 6 SC
around, 5 SC across the other side of the chain, and 1 SC to the first CH, to which you
worked INC (19);

12-13 rnd: 26 SC;

14 rnd: (11 SC, DEC) × 2 times (24);

15-16 rnd: 24 SC;

Stuff the foot.

17 rnd: (2 SC, DEC) × 6 times (18);

18 rnd: (SC, DEC) × 6 times (12);

19 rnd: 6 DEC (6);

Cut the thread, close up the remaining opening.

Now we will crochet the leg, to do this cast on stitches right from the foot. Pin the
outline of the leg first round. Place 2 pins in the middle between 13th – 14th rounds 5
stitches apart. Place other 2 pins between 16th – 17th rounds in the center 5 stitches apart.

Now you want to close the leg. Fold the leg in half, the toes should point forwards.
Assess, how many stitches you need to work to reach the fold, I worked 1 stitch.

28 rnd: crochet to the fold – in my case 1 SC, then crochet 2 parallel stitches together,

The leg is ready, make another identical one.

Attach the arms and legs to the body. For the cotter pin joined body attach the arms
between rounds 9 and 10 19 stitches apart, symmetrically regarding the belly. Attach the
legs between rounds 43 and 44 35 stitches apart, symmetrically regarding the belly.

For the thread joined body sew on the arms between rounds 51 and 52 19 stitches apart,
symmetrically regarding the belly. Sew on the legs between rounds 17 and 18 35
stitches apart, symmetrically regarding the belly.

First mark the center in the required rounds, then pin arms and legs to make sure
everything is symmetrical, and then sew using the main yarn, from which you made the
pieces.

27
Crochet Baby Pattern

Do the bottom and belly button sculpting. Use a very long needle and main yarn for
sculpting. For the cotter pin joined body mark the belly button point between rounds 37
and 38, and the top bum point between rounds 32 and 33.

For the thread joined body mark the belly button point between rounds 22 and 23, and
the top bum point between rounds 28 and 29.

For the cotter pin joined body insert your needle to the last round and for the thread
joined body enter amigurumi ring. Come out at the belly button point, pull on the
thread, insert your needle one stitch away from the previous extraction point and come
out at the top bum point, lay the thread towards the initial sculpting point, and tie the
yarn ends pulling on them. Repeat the instructions once again, tie the yarn ends tightly
and weave in.

Hair.

Crochet the wig, if you are making the hair from the same yarn, you made the doll, or if
the yarn weight for the body and hair is the same, crochet following the head pattern,
trying the wig on as you go. If the yarn is different, crochet following the round pattern,
trying the wig on constantly as you go to define the necessary number of rounds.

For the wig from textured yarn, do not work the final round.

Complete the final round on the wig from smooth yarn:

Begin the round with 2 CH, HDC, DC INC, and then DC across. When you have 6
stitches left to the end of the round, work DC INC, HDC, SC, and then crochet bangs:
chain 15, work 14 SC across the chain, SC to the main wig fabric, then make 2 more
hair strands like that, finish with SL ST.

Sew on the hair using sewing threads and blind stitch. For the hair with bangs: pin the
hair to the head leaving loose ends of the hair strands as shown in the photo.
